without hazard pay? I

Present. Wife as well, both self employed. Full PPE for employees, no layoffs, no cuts and still full profit sharing that we got in when the market bottomed (hopefully). I'm losing money on the deal. So, it could be worse than getting no hazard pay or laid off. Bout $100k in my pocket so far. But at least I get to call myself essential.

How does it feel to realize you're less essential than truck drivers and cafeteria workers?

I would be the first person to rank truck drivers ahead of my job, in terms of more essential.

I don’t know about cafeteria workers—depends whom they’re serving.
But I certainly raise my glass to ‘em.

I’ve been working 12-16 hrs 5-6 days with hazard pay. Most of it confined with Covid + patients. After 10 minutes in the room with the PPE on your ready to scream but 3-4 hrs is torturous. Money doesn’t mean crap. I just pray this crap doesn’t kill me .

I’m doing a retirement gig / 2nd career as a deputy sheriff, so yeah, I’m working.

You’d be surprised at the amount of people who insist on seeing a deputy face to face instead of filing a report over the phone on completely trivial matters.

I do and our management is doing a terrible job of keeping us separated. If it ever does make into this mill it may shut the whole place down.

Working in Donaldsonville we have split shifts to avoid cross contamination. Company is giving each full time employee that has to work during this time an extra $2000 a month for 4 months.

without hazard pay? I work for a 21 billion a year company and they just gave us masks Friday. No extra pay, just be a company man and hope for the best.

Stop acting like a spoiled, crybaby Millenial. You're not going to melt. Be grateful you're not dependent on Govt handouts.

You want hazard pay for going to work? You are probably more likely to live thru the month now that there are less cars on he road.

Working from home here.

But I work for Apple and essentially work from home anyway. I did travel fairly often and that has stopped.

Yeah, when they need me to fix something. I'm not there on Saturday or Sunday unless something needs fixed. I could do the same the rest of the week, work from home and wait for the call-in. I'm on call 24/7 anyways, so what's the difference?

The new term is "unauthorized citizens". I learned that just a few days ago.

Damn glad I am.

Now Trump needs to turn this motherfricker around and quit playing nice over deaths that (world wide) won't add up to the babies murdered in this counrty in one year.

End this science experiment.
