He’s one of the owners of ISC Constructors and I’m pretty sure he’s a big St George supporter. Would vote for him over JBE in a nanosecond

He has not.
I think he should publicly and loudly be encouraged to do so in hopes competition sits out.
He has formed an exploratory committee it seems.

Mr. Eddie is a first class individual and all around quality human being. He started ISC and has semi retired as owner. He's a straight shooter and cares about creating an environment in Louisiana that his grandchildren and great grandchildren can be proud to live in.
I'm not in his campaign, but I know him well enough to be able to tell you that he puts his money where his mouth is. And he cares about a lot of things that most on this board feel passionately about.... the future of our state, education of our children, workforce development, career choice for students that don't choose college. He is pro business, pro industry and pro life.
Most importantly, he's an outsider. He doesn't need to run. He's a statesman who believes in service. And he feels like he's been given a lot in this life and could happily retire and spend his time, money and life with his family and live very, very happily ever after. But he feels like that would be a waste of what he's been given and he needs to give back to the great state and people that have given him so much.
Eddie is running for the right reasons, for service not ego and for others, not himself. If there ever was a Trumpian type candidate, minus the coarseness, it would be Eddie Rispone.
I can personally attest that he's the real deal and we'd be lucky to have him.

IB and I are about as polar opposite here, but Eddie has my support.

Well I am for school choice, less government, less and fair taxes, school choice and a loser pay court systems.
On the state level specifically I would support these things:
The end of all income tax exemptions in exchange for overall lower tax rates. Things like the exemptions the pensions of government class retirees, the enterprise zone and job credit exemptions. We could possibly end the corporate income tax altogether if we did away with all these exemptions.
The end of all corporate welfare like film tax credits and digital media credits and live music credits. These are stupid subsidies that do nothing to add to the state's economy because every thing it gives away it has taken from some one else in the state.
The exploration of taking the state colleges private and replacing their budget with voucher that can be used in Louisiana for Louisiana college students. This will create competition among the higher ed institutions and will let them weed themselves out. We will never be able to close any institution so long as it is owned by the state. It is NOT a cut in higher education spending but a better way to spend it.
I would like to see medicaid pricing changed to a subscription based model in hopes that would lead to such pricing in the private sector.
These are things you disagree with if you disagree with IB Freeman.

I would take anyone against JBE but my biggest requirement is that he is willing to go scorched Earth against JBE and leave no prisoners alive and make sure the JBE republicans can never mount a truly effective offense against him.
Is Rispone that kind of guy?

I think they were "anybody but Vitter" republicans and not so much Edwards Republicans.
JBE is beat I hope.

How is Rispone on tort reform and fighting lawsuit abuse in Louisiana?
We need someone that will take the trial lawyers in this state down more than a few notches.
David Vitter in the last election was our best opportunity to date for that as his tort reform proposals were an absolute godsend and it's for that reason why they freaked out so much and put a shite ton of money behind JBE.

I don't really consider Anybody but Vitter republicans to be conservatives or republicans anyway.
They were well warned about what a snake in the grass JBE is and he was lying about being a moderate blue dog and they still voted for him anyway against a senator that was remarkably conservative for Louisiana and would've been the anti jindal.
Is it any wonder they don't bother to show their faces around here anymore?
Cowards.

Live down the street from him, know his entire family well—very very good people. Walk the walk type of people. Would vote for in a heart beat.

He's a good baw, but he has great business sense. He's running because he is sick and tired of JBE running off investment with his tax and spend nonsense while the GOP acts like a bunch of idiots too incompetent, gutless, or on the take to stop him. Eddie's company lost out on hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue thanks to JBE. Over $20 billion worth of industrial refining, LNG, or petrochem projects were either deferred, mothballed, or cancelled due to JBE's taxes. That's $20 billion removed from the state's economy and removed from the wallets of mostly middle class white collar and blue collar workers between NOLA, the River Parishes, BR, and Lake Chuck.
There were rumors Jim Bernhard was going to run as a democrat, so perhaps Eddie is running to keep the big guy out of the race or to run as Jim's GOP puppet.
