I don't necessarily support it, but extreme measures are going to have to be taken eventually. I was in Memphis last week and there's no way to differentiate it from Mogadishu. How long do we continue to be apathetic about the destruction of our major cities?

I don’t support the idea of the military doing the actual police work.
I do support the NG providing support like eyes on the streets and backup for police officers (especially in hostile situations where it allows police to be more spread out). Just allow the police to do most of the actual interaction with civilians while the NG maintains a presence.

The power already exists. Do you remember the NG being sent to enforce integration? Trump is not creating some power unilaterally that gets passed down to the next president. Trump not doing something is not what prevents democrats from sinking even lower.

If the governor/mayor agree - then guard units could be used. DC is a special case in this regard, but I think Trump knows that and is just getting Dem mayors/governors to take the unpopular position and show their hand.
FBI could be better used to focus on violent and property crimes which make people feel unsafe.

Mixed feelings. If the voters of those lawless cities voted for their present leaders(which obviously they did) yney should be made to accept the consequences. If they want different, they should vote different.
THAT is what America is founded upon, a representative government.
All Trump is doing is great and wonderful but
regardless what he does, those big city folks will never support him. Eventually, those places should be separated from the majority of American voters and left to thoer own ideas.
Build a wall around them, withold federal tax dollars and see what happens. Eventually they will understand that the US will not support Marxist.
Maybe they'll get the message....
