We didnt go after Iran and Venezuela because they sell oil to China. They sell oil to China because we sanctioned both countries and China was willing to thwart our sanctions and buy oil below market price.
The fact we might shut that down is just a side benefit of attacking both regimes.
And, honestly, how badly will China miss the Venezuelan oil. We had multiple threads here about how dilapidated Venezuela's oil industry had become. China buys about 12MM bpd....Venezuela's total production was less than 1 MM bpd.
Iran may be another story, but worse case is China will buy more oil on the open market, driving prices up for all of us.

It's pretty obvious what he's doing

I'd rather bomb Iran from the sky than have a ground/sea/air war with China.
I'd rather arrest Maduro in 3 hours than have a ground/sea/air war with China.
If you missed my point about China, then I can understand your response.
You appear to be failing to see the future trajectory of Taiwan and China.
You either don't care that we have committed to protect Taiwan. Or don't care that the protection (which does serve national interest) would lead us to a ground war with American souls.

We will allow sales to Chyna afterwards. But we can also slow it down if needed. Chyna tried getting cutsie with rare earth minerals. Now we can trade oil for minerals until we get out rare earth minerals stockpile built. And can use oil to keep them in line while we can start to focus on them instead of middle east. Once things calm down we won't need as big a presence in ME and can move assets to Pacific theatre.

They owe China billions of dollars for past loans. They weren't selling it to them, they were paying back old debts.
….. which explains their anti-American behaviors

That makes this war even worse.
Serious question?? Did the DNC send out a mass email telling democrats to call this a war?? Because why is Trump bombing Iran with an other country’s a war but when Obama bombed Libya for 7 months it was oh no no this isn’t a war from the dems?? Can you explain????

I don't necessarily disagree with you here. We have overextended ourselves in way too many ways for way too long, and our continually skyrocketing national debt is clear evidence of it.

Make the case why it makes sense to go to war in the Middle East again at this moment in history to hurt China.
Because they are EASILY the worst adversary that we currently have. Given how some dipshits in our country view China so positively, the may be our worst adversary ever (more so than the USSR).

That’s a weird way to describe panicking.
Oil is the lifeblood of global trade, and global trade is the lifeblood of Chin’s economy.

Bingo, it's like the game of GO. SunTzu must think Trump is an idiot.

This will push China and Russia closer.

Not only is it about oil, but it sends a message to nations allied with China: China is a bad friend. They will not help when you need it.
