No, it's actually hard to believe. But there are about a million things that could happen to make me believe, but they never do.

I would argue that you’re holding onto your ego. But that would be presumptuous of me. Even though I’m right.

Well, I guess that my ego is also preventing me from believing in phlogiston or flat earth or 9/11 conspiracy theories.
I'd love to believe, but I can't lie to myself and be a fraud about it.

I pray that God will reveal Himself to you. But, if what you’re looking for is proof that He exists, that wouldn’t be belief, would it? It would be proof.
There is evidence all around you. You will choose to doubt or to believe.

It just seems like if you cared deeply about the souls of your Creation that you would go the extra mile for the more skeptical of us. There is no shortage of people who want to believe.
You realize he took the form of a man, lived amongst us, taught us, performed miracles, then suffered and died a tortuous death, though perfectly innocent. If that is not going the extra mile, I don’t know what is.
And despite this, most who saw him and heard him still rejected him. Your excuse of needing more proof is just that, an excuse. You reject him because you don’t want to submit your will to your creator.

That's my point. What is the problem with providing proof? Proof was allegedly provided in Israel 2000 years ago. Why not have another go at it for those of us living in a totally different age?

This is more sensible. I'd probably describe myself as a Deist, but that's very different from Christianity. The creation that surrounds us might be the work of Allah or Brahma or Ahura Mazda.

Well, other traditions, like Jesus' own religion, don't believe he was the son of God. They are just as convinced of their position as you are. To them, YOU are denying the truth of your future messiah.
I believe Jesus existed, by the way. The evidence is very strong.

Preach it brother

Actually, they are spoken of in the Bible. They are called Pharisees, and they didn't believe in that religion either.

As was spoken nearly 2000 years ago. He is coming quickly. He is about to have another go at it. Are you ready for what he is bringing?

Well, I guess the billions of devout adherents to the other great world religions are all wrong, then. You have to understand how this isn't persuasive to someone like me. I see your religion the same way I see Hinduism.

Yes. That exactly what I'm saying. Show it to me and you've got me. I'm just not going to fake it because I want it.

Luke chapter 21.
If you can't see that it is coming from a 2000 year old script, then it will be too late when you see it with your eyes.

That makes no sense at all. If you can't see the truth of Osiris and Horus from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, then it will be too late for you when you attempt to enter the afterlife.

If the tomb is empty there is hope.

Why are you essentially repeating my post back to me as some sort of salient counterpoint? He was despised and rejected by his own people. This was prophesied many years beforehand. It didn’t surprise him, and it doesn’t surprise me.

You have to read it to know what I am saying. 2000 years ago a man by the name of Jesus said all this will happen. Here we are.

Because you are the one arguing against me and, I presume, trying to persuade me. If your selling point is "I know it's hard to believe and most people will reject it" then I don't really know that we can go any further. I don't believe in messianic Zoroastrian or German pagan stories either because they are also nonsensical and hard to believe.

I have read it. The Buddah and Mohammed also had plenty of things to say about the world, man, and the future as well. I'd hazard a guess that if you were born in Jeddah, you'd be a devout Muslim.

The fact that wrong answers exist doesn’t mean that a true answer doesn’t. I get what you’re saying, it’s just a silly reason to reject something. I’m willing to bet that you have some moral values that you’re convinced are better than those of others across the globe; same thing. You didn’t become amoral just because a lot of people get it wrong from your perspective.
