Jeb.

Knew it was Trump when he was roasting everybody and was still climbing in the polls.

I actually talked my brother out of putting money on Trump @ 50/1.

Cruz or Rubio

Knew Trump woodwind when every single Republican candidates stepped on their dicks after Trump was forced to cancel the Chicago rally. Rather than place the blame where it accurately should have been placed they all basically said Trump caused it

At that precise moment I went from a strong opponent of trump to a strong supporter and I feel like I probably wasn't alone

The Chicago rally changed everything.

That one moment actually made me pause a bit on my opposition to Trump.

I did not mind that Trump won and I enthusiastically supported him in the general election. I am glad Trump beat Cruz.

I don't know if Cruz has the fight that Trump has.

I will vote for Cruz in 2024 if he runs

Good answer, good answer.

I like the way you think.

I'm going to be keeping my eye on you

Until I saw Jeb at an early fundraiser for big donors with his hands in his pockets with poor posture. The 1st time I was introduced to W it was on 60 mins and he was on horseback (Regan-esque). Say what you want but optics matter.

Once Trump entered the the primary I knew it was over for the nomination.

I had to write a paper about a foreign policy issue in college. I chose China and their currency manipulation, used several Trump quotes. This must have been 8 years ago. We had to present our paper to the class. I got the groans/laughs when I brought him up... now I'm the one laughing.

It was when I realized that the MOST important issue was the totalitarian left.

Not deficits.

Not Taxes.

Not abortion.

But the fact that the left was all in on being anti-freedom and literally NONE of the Republican candidates had the fricking balls to call it what it was.

Until Trump broke the mold the Republican Party was an old backdoor stuffed shirt club. Jeb's ticket was already punched for the nomination. That's just how things were.

Ronald Reagan was also an outsider and one who if the old guard would have backed him instead of the incumbent we could have been sparred Jimmy Carter who while a nice man had a cabinet made of piranha like Obama who didn't serve him worth a shite.

The internet broke Jeb and Hillary it's a new age where the Koch brothers and the WAPO/Soros can't manipulate the public anymore and they get called out.

Jeb might have been smart and capable but he had a terrible stage presence and it cost him. He should have taken a year of theatre ?? and gained some skills...

I thought Jeb would get it and lose to Hillary. Certainly wasn’t rooting for him.

In that one debate where Rubio came out swinging right off the bat and told people to google Trump Polish Workers, I thought that might be a knockout blow...that Trump wouldn't be able to recover from reports of him hiring illegals. But then I think it was the next debate when Christie knocked out Rubio.

Originally, probably Ted Cruz.

I knew Trump had it wrapped up when Cruz came out and said a Muslim ban was unamerican. At least that was the clarifying point for me when I realized that Cruz didn’t have what it took to address the problems the country faced.

A Muslim ban was the single most sensible response to 9-11 even if we didn’t drop a single bomb in response. Our failure to do that was a catastrophic mistake.

I had no idea.

I do remember getting my hair cut in the summer of 2016 by a black guy of all people who spent the whole time gushing about Trump. I was thinking “slow your roll dude” so you don’t get disappointed. At the time I thought Trump was an entertaining lark, shows what I know.

I meant 2015

I just assumed it was going to be Jeb and a Clinton/Bush election. Though I didn't hate him, I never really liked Trump. To me he was just rude arse Yankee who got off on firing people. Trump won me over during the Republican debates. When they booed him and he pointed out that it was because they were Jeb's special interest. I remember thinking to myself, "I am against them(special interest). If they are against Trump, then I am for him."

Rubio has really disappointed me since the election.

What was strange during the primaries is that Trump lead in the polls the whole time but the tv commentators kept saying he wasn't going to be the nominee. He was the frontrunner right from the start and they still didn't take him seriously.
