This is how the congress operates. Fiction but actually non-fiction.
Yep. It's a shame this movie wasn't a bigger hit. Definitely one of Eddie Murphy's most underrated movies.
As you mentioned, sadly this scene is probably closer to real life than fiction

I think we need to see the budget in a month or two before committing to the premise. But if we end up with another $2T deficit, or anything north of $0.5T frankly, I'd wish a pox on both their houses. Ultimately it's about the infamous American Idiot voting for these POS's though.
Waiting for USAID $$$$ to come back in this bill - will tell all you need to know

When you say globalism, you really mean free trade
You don’t want actual free trade or you would support Trump attempting to create trade deals that result in an even playing field which we most certainly do not have with anyone currently.
They import Chinese goods, slap a made in Canada sticker on it and pretend it was made in Manitoba. That’s not free trade.
Or they apply VAT and other barriers to entry for US goods, ship us their cars with no tariffs on entry and you pretend it’s free trade. It isn’t.

When you say open borders, you're talking about Democrats. No Republican wants open borders,
Oh really? So when Langford proposed a deal where after 8500 illegals crossed per day we’d get real serious about slowing things down maybe that isn’t open borders? That works out to 3M illegals per year by the way.
Keep up the good work on locking down that border GOPe!
The chamber of commerce runs the GOPe and they want cheap labor which means open borders or near to it which is why they all wanted to pass that garbage bill desperately until Trump shut it down.
Tech wants to cut their labor costs too so we get millions of H1B visas to replace domestic workers not for elite or unique roles, but because they’re cheaper and you call that conservatism? It’s indentured servitude and stealing jobs from US college students.

When you say control of their party
I mean the country club Mitch McConnell crew wants to go back to business as usual talking about conservative values while passing spending bills with $2T in deficit spending so they can get kickbacks by funding wars in Ukraine that don’t benefit a single American outside of the defense contractors and Pentagon.

Trump is a hell of a lot better than Kamala ever could have been, but being driven by populism and not principle is not a recipe for long-term success in any position of leadership.
Laughable.
The GOP was going to continue to be a loser party of “strongly worded letter” conservatives who really just wanted to go on as a minority fake opposition party nationally until Trump went conservative populist, grabbed the blue collar base, won Latinos and took unprecedented numbers of black men into the coalition.
Is the GOP now a coalition party? Yes.
Do I have any vestige of respect for the brand of republican that you and Thom Tillis apparently represent? No.

They have all been stealing and selling their influence for decades, the $175,000 a year they make is peanuts compared to the underhanded money.
Both Sides
The republicans didn’t want Trump but they couldn’t beat him so they tolerate him until he’s gone.
Some are scared to piss off the establishment so they can continue their grift

The GOPe is fricking useless and in love with the smell of its own farts.
These people are delusional.
