I don't think SM thinks there is a 'Baal', jc. Of course, that is exactly what Baal wants his prey to believe, up until the time he slams the door on their souls. SM is a classic, philosophical Atheist, IMO. Probably an honest and good guy IRL, but like with all Atheist, zero hope for any future. As the aging process moves forward, that 'belief' will sink in with predictable Nihilism, psychological impact. I cannot imagine living with no hope for a future.

I think you need to update your headline OP - bc it fails to adequately convey how utterly revolting it is to turn the most sacred day of the Christian calendar into this secular, fake, celebration of mental illness.

Every generation is littered with those who think they had it all figured out during their 8 or 9 decades and consider themselves much too intelligent to believe.
God and God’s Word long precedes such souls and God’s Word will remain long after such souls have been forgotten by even their own descendants.
You just pray earnestly for such folks that their eyes and hearts will be opened…and then go on about your way and let them go theirs.

SM believes he is serving the common good via replacing 'faith'-based rationale with pure empirical (non-Spiritual Universe) reasoning. So does the whole Secular DEI, Transnational Progressive ideological movement. To the point of "they shall sley the children of God and believe they are doing God a favor". As God is defined as "Love" in Christian Theology, the TP's will claim to be serving 'God' via serving Love. It will be the 'herding cats' MO - and reaction to it - that pushed them to outright slaughter/genocide toward People of Faith/Christians who resist their DEI 'government based on Love'. IMHO.

One of my best and most faithful friends is an Atheist, GP, and I take you wise advice to heart. I love him, as does his Creator, although he does not enjoy the blessing of Belief, while bearing the hopeless curse of non-belief. I just love him and leave it at that, though he well knows where my love comes from. Such being my belief in an absolute Unity via God. We are all leaves in the 'Worldly' wind IRL. But for the Holy Spirit of Truth.
