Dr. King was raised in the same times. I guess that he didn't get the memo.

Judging character against the standard of King is ridiculous.

Ask Sonji Roi, Belinda Boyd, and Veronica Porché Ali about his integrity. Just for starters.

Exactly right. Ask Joe Frazier if Ali ever paid back the loan he made to Ali.

Um... this is pretty fricking rich given the reaction of some on here to Trump's wiretapping delusions

To be fair, blacks were getting the crap beat out of them regularly back then and the deacades before.

while your point is valid somehow I don't think he'd give the same pass to a white kid who had the misfortune of growing up in a heavily majority-black School.

Speculation. One thing for sure- that white kid would have been able to eat whatever he wanted, sit wherever he wanted on the bus, not worried about his house or church being burned down, and maybe even talked to his grandfather or great-grandfather who owned or might have owned slaves . Oh and Muhammad Ali would not have been in the same class or probably even the same school as that white kid

But yet I bet you want to hold the white man's feet to the fire regarding slavery yet dismiss Ali's comments as "a sign of the times"?

You'd be wrong on that one. I hold slaveowners and the system in place during those times as responsible for slavery

Why? King was not flawless.

There is a reason his FBI files are sealed for a few more years.

don't think this is a fair criticism of Ali given the time period he was raised in.

Hi yo. Does this apply to other people in history or just that muslim Ali?

Womanizer who also committed plagiarism in his academic career.

His files will remained sealed because he has been elevated to god like status among many is society.

Of course, all of his achievements are the result of white people allowing them to happen.

Awesome. Now all the white people from the past who are called 'white supremacists' can now be discussed fairly.

Most dunces want to apply 2017 attitudes to everyone in history.

You calling our president a liar then or just stupid and gullible?

"As he reflected on Saturday on the death of Muhammad Ali, Donald J. Trump gushed, calling him a “terrific guy,” “so generous,” and an “amazing poet.”

“He was two people,” Mr. Trump said of Ali in an interview. “In the ring, he was fierce, and outside of the ring, he was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.”

frick this shite.

Liberals smear historical figures constantly by applying today's moral standards to hundreds of years ago.

"Thomas Jefferson owned slaves! OMG, we should listen to nothing he ever said."
