Dude, you're claiming Russia would not perceive a threat from 6 to 10 undetectable cruise missiles w/ 1 MT nuclear warheads located 6 mins from Moscow.

That is about as far from "educated on the topic" as it comes.

So Germany buying Russian gas is the same culpability as Russia invading a non-aggressive country that posed no threat to Russia militarily?

Morally? That's a stupid fricking question, though.

Geopolitically? Yes.

Did you just realize what Russia is and isn't? Did you not realize that this was inevitable at some point?

And, we are exactly where we don't want to be...cleaning up this mess.

You are binary thinker. It's why you are struggling with this topic.

This analysis is idiotic. Russia does not need to sell gas to the West. Would it like to? Sure. But it doesn’t need to.

Meanwhile China is selling LNG it bought from US suppliers for a 30% profit to the EU and replacing those volumes via the Siberian Pipeline from Russia.

I’m sure the Europeans are happy to pay a premium for energy. That’s what the protest are about in France and Germany. They are happy to pay high energy prices.

Yes and subject to delivery costs, market is everything. Which you fail to understand.

Gas is becoming a buyer’s market.

Only relative to extreme highs this year. Even relative to the late year spike last year (before the war), gas on the Nasdaq is up roughly 20% and that spike was at least 40% (probably over 50% if you really break it down, but I'll concede some overall inflation is in the numbers since 2020) above 10 year averages.

We're still something on the order of gas being 55% to 60% above where it should be. That is all priced into the war and the sanctions (and the Western left's inexplicable and suicidal war on CO2).

Your original post was about a quick end to the conflict...not about whether Ukraine has been helped in this conflict

Uh, that is making the end closer and making the conflict end more quickly. That's the whole point.

Nobody wants Russia trying (and failing) to invade Ukraine for 5+ years.

Are you now running from the very article you posted.

Uh, just because I post an article doesn't mean I agree with every word in it

Go ahead and disavow this article if you want.

What? The main point of the article (Europe having gas supplies) still stands

Man ideological purity is now being extended into articles. I'll remember that the next time people post questionable sources on here

Good.

Now, can we stop giving Ukraine money? I'll hang up and listen.

That's insane

I'll show why very quickly: Outside of Russia, who has moved the international community to sanction Germany for buying Russian gas pre-invasion?

Now compare that to the international community's response to Russia's invasion (lots of sanctions from all across the world).

That's why I argued $40B to end it more quickly could be a wise investment.

We'll end up spending over $1 trillion by the time this is all over. I have a hard time swallowing that number.

We'll see.

I imagine that would require a hot war with no nukes.

*ETA: like an "invading Russia for regime change" hot war. Not a defensive war in Ukraine.

We'll end up spending most of that on rebuilding. We'll pay for everything they rebuild 4x before it actually gets built. Meanwhile, we'll also be building massive military infrastructure and sending them insane amounts of hardware. It'll likely end up with a US military base there as a cherry on top to ensure money flows there forever. That place is going to make NOLA look like a convent.

There won’t be shite to rebuild as long as the west aids. The more aid the more Russia will take. Party hasn’t even really started for them.

OT LARPers can say whatever they want, but they lack a fundamental understanding of the Russian mindset.

Russia has lost almost all the land they initially took at a very huge cost. What makes you think they can "win"?

I can say this with 100% certainty.

The US will not back out of this conflict no matter which party is in power. We will be there mindlessly handing Zelensky whatever he demands. If Russia takes Ukraine, we'll be funding insurgent and separatist groups in perpetuity.

No they haven’t. They have been just as much proxy fighting this as the US has up until now.

Ukraine has lost far more than Russia and it’s not close.

Stay away from the OT. That way you can avoid the claims that Russia lost 300 jets as an example.

It’s absurd.

But like I said, nothing left to rebuild. Ukraine is destined to be a wasteland now.

Europe is doing so well that it’s only paying 10 times more now for gas than in the past! They are doing great!
