If we should be hostile to Iran for hundreds or even thousands of death, why shouldn't they hate us for exponentially higher death tolls?

This is not a serious argument. If we applied your logic then we have to make a list of countries that have killed x number of Americans and start attacking them. There are a lot of countries that would be on that list, and Iran would not be at the top of it.

Trump is not happy with either of them. Says we have two countries that "don't know what the frick they're doing" and walks off. He is more pissed at Israel than Iran. And for good reason.

In this instance yes I do because the Pakistanis were giving a play by play as it was happening yesterday. We called them in to mediate it. And they did. It is ridiculous to now call them liars less than 24 hours later.
Yes, the deal the US and Iran tentatively agreed to as a starting point for negotiations included a region wide ceasefire. That is easily established simply looking at his tweets from yesterday as it was happening.
Maybe Vance misspoke. But either way he is wrong.
Also, again, the ceasefire never got off the ground because one party (Israel) never agreed to it at all.
No matter which way you cut it, Israel is in the wrong here.

Are you going to ignore that the Iranians could have killed US personnel even if we didn't join in because they've been doing that for decades now? Why doesn't that count for anything?
What do you think Iran's posture would be if it attained a nuclear weapon, or even less, enough ballistic deterrent to keep us from attacking? Kill less people? Color me skeptical.
