Where is Ted and Rand?

Ted is trying to see which way the wind will blow on this.

It’s a major escalation regardless of what it turns up.

If it really is about giving classified docs back, why couldn’t a simple letter suffice?

I think there is a piece of information we’re all either missing or just not privy to.

I think it gives Trump major new life when I felt his brand was growing stale with the non-base. I think it’s actually a great thing for him if it really is just about docs he took with him when he left. This would be a major overreach by the FBI if that’s the case. But that may also be mitigated by what exactly is in the documents. Just too hard to tell either way with such huge pieces of info missing.

I guess my point is you should want him to have momentum if you also fear this is some coordinated bullshite.

All reports suggest it is the possession of classified documents angle. That can either be he gave the docs back as some reports suggest and this was “to make sure he didn’t have any others” as I’ve seen speculated elsewhere. That’s (a) weak sauce to justify a warrant and (b) this is a massive overreaction by FBI is the case. That’s best case scenario for Trump.

Medium level case is he took classified docs and refused to return them on some grounds that he wanted them declassified but the Deep State slow walked it via bureaucracy. That’s based off the Kash Patel quotes in the Breitbart article. Then I think it matters what’s in the docs and how much of a national security threat they pose. That’s the middle ground.

Worst case is something far more nefarious but we have nothing to really speculate on that other than 30 agents raiding a lightning rod of an ex-president’s house.

They are probably looking for docs Trump took in 2021 that he was warned not to take and wasn't in the 15 boxes he eventually returned under threat of a search warrant. We are past the simple letter request stage.

All of the documents he took were declassified before he left office but keep on shilling for political persecutions via the strong arm of government.

Except, if he is caught with a single illegal document he is completely disqualified from running for public federal office. Garland knows this is a slam dunk - whether it's ignorance on Trump's behalf of having alleged WH documents or malfeasance on behalf of a crooked FBI. Everyone else has folded and only Garland and Trump are still in the game. One has to win and the other has to go down. That's how this will play out.
