It's amazing how this shortsighted line of thinking amongst republicans/conservatives just absolutely refuses to die.

It is an absolute myth that giving illegal aliens papers will just magically make them conservatives that consistently vote GOP.

Reagan tried it and we lost California for decades and will likely never get it back.

Most Hispanics don’t give a shite about any of this. They just want to work. I’ve been working outside of the house during the entire “pandemic” and I never see them wearing mask or anything. They just want to work in peace.

The solution to pollution is to stop the polluting and remove pollutants. Or maybe you've found success spraying down any trash you find in your yard.

If you put a tablespoon of wine into sewage, it's still sewage.

If you put a teaspoon of sewage into wine, the wine is destroyed forever.

That is about as simple as it gets and yet some in the GOP are so addicted to the myth of pandering to hispanics will lead to more votes. Latino voters by and large are not conservative voters and the solution to that is we need to stop allowing them into this country.

Yep. And they will continue to. Quietly. Because Trump wants a wall to block out their ancestors. And deport their family members.

The demand for that wall and deportations just didn't come out of thin air.

I’ve not seen or noticed roving bands of Hispanics in all of this mess. Maybe it’s happening but they number far less than the whites and blacks.

That brings up a good point I’ve been wondering— who all is protesting in Phoenix? I keep seeing massive crowds night after night in Phoenix of all places. Is it a combination of Antifa whites and the 6% of blacks in the Phoenix metro?

Hispanics can not save this country. They could help but globalism will not be defeated. Do you think if conservatives win that the libs will just sit there and take it. They will lie, cheat, and strong arm anyone with a different opinion.

Any insight on short and long term political affects on Hispanic voters?

Like all people, Hispanics are not monolithic in thought and portions of the 30M Hispanic voters are winnable by either party - assuming they feel welcome in the party.

Where do Hispanics Fall in all of this?
I have Hispanic friends in Houston that are big time MAGA. I have Cuban friends in South Florida that are the same.

Texas Hispanics vote a lot more conservative than California Hispanics. I want to say around 40-45% voted for Abbott and Cruz in 2018.

Well that settles it. Let 'em in.

Never mind that parts of Los Angeles look like 3rd world war zone. Never mind that urban high schools in Texas are becoming voluntarily segregated based on gang affiliations. Never mind that the Republicans will never win another election in Texas unless they run on a Democratic platform.

None of that is important when considering the future of our country. What matters is that a guy showed up to your door and although he couldn't speak a lick of English, he agreed to mow your lawn for $15.

Calm it. It was pretty obviously a joke.

ETA: except for the part about handshaking. And I did hire Mexicans to paint my house. So fricking What. The last five American trades I hired sucked arse, and I saw this guy painting a house down the street in the middle of Covid. It looked great, so I got his card and called him. I didn't ask his immigration status.
