the Jan 6 commission can not act as a grand jury, that is illegal. so there has to be a grand jury convened on the side of it
for Trump to be charged he has to be directly involved, either someone next to him was coordinating with Terrio and they testify they told Trump about the Jan 6 plans or Terrio/proud boys were in direct communication with Trump
good luck making that allegation and bringing charges against Trump
the fact that Trump went on an hour late and went forty minutes over time tells me he knew what going to happen, knew their timetable and broke schedule on purpose

It is all bullshite but Julie lays it all out a day before the hearing.
I have seen it a few times that they will tie Trump to proud boys, have aides say that Trump cheered hanging Pence, and they will show a video clip of Trump on the proud boys like they twisted Charlottesville.
It sounds insane but I really think the DOJ are on stand by with Liz and the committee and they will charge Trump. At minimum they will from Judge Cheney's bench proclaim Trump can never run for office and it will stick.
