Have owned my roofing company for coming up on 35 years. Hand to the fricking plow boys.

I don't have an ideology. Ron Paul is the best candidate the United States has had during my life time. We fricked it up. We deserve the inevitable that is coming.

Environmental Management

Right leaning centrist, with some liberal social views (same sex marriage, drug laws)
My problem is so many people are closed minded and assholes, I usually don't want to be associated with either side. Progressives are the most annoying people on Earth so frick them. I'll never ever be a shitty progressive. :lol

Business owner (heavy equipment dealer)

Fiscal conservative. Smallest government necessary. Libertarian on social issues. Ainsley Hayes brand of government

quote:

Sam Seaborn: [speaking about the Equal Rights Amendment] How can you have an objection to something that says...

Ainsley Hayes: Because it's humiliating. A new amendment we vote on declaring that I am equal under the law to a man, I am mortified to discover there's reason to believe I wasn't before. I am a citizen of this country, I am not a special subset in need of your protection. I do not have to have my rights handed down to me by a bunch of old, white, men. The same Article 14 that protects you, protects me, and I went to law school just to make sure.

quote:

Sam Seaborn: It's not about personal freedom, and it certainly has nothing to do with public safety. It's just that some people like guns.

Ainsley Hayes: Yes, they do. But you know what's more insidious than that? Your gun control position doesn't have anything to do with public safety, and it's certainly not about personal freedom. It's about you don't like people who *do* like guns. You don't like the people. Think about that, the next time you make a joke about the South.

quote:

Sam Seaborn: If the amendment's redundant what's your problem if it's passed or not?

Ainsley Hayes: Because I' m a Republican. Have we met? I believe every time the federal government hands down a Iaw, it Ieaves for the rest of us a Iittle Iess freedom. So I say, Iet's just stick to the ones we absolutely need in order to have water come out of the faucet and our cars not stolen. That is my problem with passing a redundant Iaw.

2021 is my MRD (mandatory retirement date). Still love what I do (joined as enlisted in 1981). Will keep doing it until they make me retire or I ge tired of it.
