Why not? Are you trying to wait for later to get a larger amount? I plan to collect the day I become eligible even at the reduced amount. I figure I will be lucky if there is anything left to collect when I become eligible. Certainly not waiting around and really risking it.

65 now and waiting a few more years. Still have an income so no reason to take now as due to the rules it doesnt make sense to .

81. A charity that helps muslims understand there are no virgins waiting for them was gifted my SS when I turned 62.

I "retired" last September at the age of 65 and started collecting right away.
I'm with you. No reason to collect if you still have a fulltime income stream. Otherwise you end up paying tax on it.
But once that income stream stops, don't hesitate to get started even if you have to take a reduced amount.
The break-even point for me is 18 years in the future. I may not even live that long.

No. My income would eliminate any SS money I would get until I reach 67.

You sound like one of those Reptillians so I'm telling nothing.

Because, and I mean this seriously, I'd like to work a few more years. What I do is exciting and I feel important.
I'm also blessed to be able to put much of what I earn into savings/ 401k. The SS really isn't important right now but I'll only have this one shot. In the same field, my brother, one of the smartest people I know, retired at 68. It's coming up on 4 years now, and he 'thinks' he may have to work again. In the time he's been retired, his position doesn't exist in the industry anymore, thanks to AI. Think about that... only 4-5 years. I certainly don't want that for me, my wife and our disabled daughter.
But I get you and hope you are able to collect on that day you target.
