One year out and I’m undecided if I will or not. I don’t understand why I have to have a limit on my salary to draw something I’m entitled to. Stupid.

**the caveat is that when I retired, my wife was working and traveling and not retiring. She and I were both in high positions of authority, she more so than me. She traveled on business and so I took care of the house and pets while she was away and then she returned the favor when I would travel. Then, she decided to walk away from the high pressure of leading a global team of project engineers and took a remote position paying her nearly the same by a smaller company that needed to tap into her resources, experience and reputation. She does this new job in half the time, and has lots of free time, which is good because we're developing a business and she's creating the backend systems to run everything and is setting up our working assets with other support companies. So, we are adjusting to being together all the time and with the kids are moved away, either in another city or school (Austin). That is definitely an adjustment and so that's something to consider.

Didn’t argue but questioned my brother a few years back when he took it as soon he was able. I plan to live much longer. He died at sixty five with prostate cancer. He got what he could and Uncle Sam kept the rest.

I turn sixty five in a few months and the wife is already retired. Adding more to my 401k won’t add much but I don’t have enough to start taking out at a rate to maintain my life style for a long retirement.

I’m considering semiretirement with me working turnarounds 20 weeks a year. It would be be enough to pay the bills without dipping into savings for now.

I’ll see what kind of of shape I’m in down the road.

I take pretty good care of myself. My skin looks great but I definitely need to start working out intentionally to preserve bone mass. I’m 41 today!
