Feminism happened. aka The pussification of America

For too long, the right in our country didn't focus on education. The left won the day and promoted leftist ideas and ideology in schools.

The infiltration of liberalism in our education system is bearing fruit. It's not the only thing, but is a major thing.

It's a complex issue. If you had to nail Zach down to 1 big cause I'd say it was the 'self esteem' movement that started in the 1960s and went whole hog in the 70s.

Dr. Spock (not Mr. Spock) started it and it took off in elementary school training. Short story: 'It's not what the child learns that is important, it's how he/she feels about him/her self.'

Political Correctness has its roots there. We must not say things that hurt self esteem. Black Panther movie has nothing to do with real black history. It's designed to raise self esteem.

Nothing much has changed. This country has always been obsessed with guns, and has had a problem with gun deaths for decades. Deaths attributed to guns aren't much higher today than they were in the 1950's. There was a pretty big spike in the late 70's through the mid 90's when the war on drugs escalated, but it has been going down since then.

American culture is racing to the bottom. Whether it is just the old-fashioned "eye test" or by measuring social pathologies or public behavior, how we dress or talk in public, the state of marriage and the family, the repudiation of traditional values, moral relativism everywhere, moral confusion about very simple things, the quality of our art, or anti-anxiety medications, whatever. Violence (suicide murder) tends to "cluster" , that is one event motivates the next and it becomes part of the culture. We have an established American archetype now-"the school shooter" and it is just another dysfunctional and violent expression of our culture. It's who we are.
