You don't understand libertarianism. There is a difference between having a personal preference and wanting something to be illegal.
I don't use drugs. I don't advise that you use drugs. I don't want drugs illegal. It's the same with marital affairs, religion, etc.

Many lukewarm libertarians like me abandoned Paul for Trump when we realized he was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'll go back to that after Trump's glorious reign ends.
I think I agree with this.

Hot tip: Describing ANCAP as "utopian" is a sure fire way to indicate that you don't understand it.
If you still don't understand it, I'll be happy to discuss further.

The board has definitely shifted in light of Trump. A lot of people have remain pretty staunchly libertarian on economic issues. On social issues though the board has shifted to be much more nationalist rather than libertarian.

What about regarding the military?

What are the "nationalist" "social issues" on which you think "the board" now adheres?

Closed borders and immigration.

'The enemy of your enemy is your friend', E. The Fascist Progs are the real enemy to your Freedom; and you either get on board with whomever is best equipped to whip them...or you stand on the side...in a close fight. Not rocket science.
You only say that because fascist progressives are setting their sights on what you perceive to be religious freedoms, first and foremost. I've lived in south Louisiana my entire life. I can't think of a single restriction to my freedom brought on by fascist progressives. The restrictions to my freedom brought on by religious conservatives are legion.
That's not to say that I won't be fighting them tooth and nail, because I will. But your kind isn't getting a pass, either

Are those "social issues"? What has changed with regard to "the board" on those, over say the past two years?
Maybe there's been more talk on it, but I don't recall a whole lot of big "open boarder" adherents here previously than there are now.

Thus far virtually everything Trump is doing or trying to do aligns with libertarian precepts. Undoing Obamacare, cutting taxes, reducing spending, boosting economic growth via the private sector, massive regulatory roll backs all jibe with libertarian viewpoints. It shouldn't be a surprise folks here support those policies.
these are all pretty standard conservative Republican policies
where Trump fails on libertarian views is military, border control, immigration, trade policy (though I agree with him here), appointment of Jeff Sessions

I think so

My guess is the people who used to preach libertarianism sound more conservative these days and talk more about religion and nationalism and borders. It is just a guess, because this has happened to the libertarian movement worldwide for the past year or 2.

Libertarians are pretty conflicted on these issues.

I know. I don't know any libertarians that agree with the wall and travel bans loosely based on religion though .

Present
It's hard to notice because the 2 sides have gotten so ardent in their ideologies that typically libertarians get blasted as one or the other.
If you get called a hippie liberal and a redneck Republican in the same day, you're probably a libertarian.
That being said, Progs have gotten so ridiculously dimwitted since the election that it's open season on calling out their bullshite and I find myself doing that more than anything else.

quote:So what? Pretend those laws don't exist and we live in libertopia. That doesn't give me recourse if my neighbor wants to sell their house to an immigrant. Maybe in cookie-cutter subdivisions owned by a single developer but that doesn't describe most of Houston proper and doesn't alter the gentrification cycles of the urban cores. (Plus redlining really only took off once it was institutionalized by the HOLC/FHA which would never have existed.)
But to answer your question, there are many laws against discrimination against others when conducting business, specifically selling real estate. Those laws aren't merely suggestions.
And even the fantasy of perfectly segregated neighborhoods governed by Hoppean HOAs doesn't rid you of "different cultures living in a single society" because "society" is a hell of a lot broader than your zip code.
