Funny. Democrats didn't have "America how they wanted it" so they ignored border laws for 30 years. You can't win straight up so you have to import your voters or your "permanent underclass".

I don't know, but I'm looking forward to watching the nuclear missile negotiations. That should be pretty spicy.
Everyone always forgets the nukes.

It is legitimately heartbreaking to read this. Coming to this kind of realization is such a hideous way to realize that the country we knew is gone.
America WAS that country. It was literally founded on the principles of freedom in relation to tyranny from the British Crown. America was created after enough people got fed up with BS. America was so free and successful that the unprecedented prosperity created a people that was far too comfortable and far to ignorant.
It’s been obvious that America the free hasn’t been so for awhile. It’s just so unbelievably difficult to accept.

The states could legally form militias.
I'm of the opinion that the feds would bring force, and the military would comply, but only to a point.
Americans are weak and soft and have no stomach for what they went through 150 yeas ago. Any real resistance and the corrupt system crumbles. But no resistance at all, and the feds will kill any effort at freedom.
Thus, the need for state militias.

Kurt Schlichter has written a whole series of novels - I think there are six of them now - which essentially gives a blow-by-blow of what that could look like.
They aren't exactly heartwarming, but they do make for compelling reading.
The Kelly Turnbull series

Many already have state militias. Louisiana does. They report to Governor Edwards. Sooo I doubt they would be called upon in whatever crazy scenario y’all are talking about.

I envision acts of nullification of unconstitutional Federal law
Sort of how South Carolina refused to collect tariffs prior to the start of civil war I.
The problem is, states are too interdependent. I work for a company that is based in Colorado. Let's suppose Desantis prohibits said company from mandating vaccines for Florida residents. In turn, the company is basically forced to pull out of Florida or risk the ire of the Feds. Before you know it, a quarter of the states population is out of work. And where does the food come from? What if they shut down food shipments.
Any state that pulls out would be an economic basket case.
The only practical way to do this is a convenient of the states. Anything could happen. The entire federal structure could be demolished. The constitution could be rewritten and all that constitutional law and precedent that has lead to this could go right down the crapper.
The republicans control almost twice as many state legislatures as do the democrats.
