What would make you trust the voting system?

What’s the answer to this situation?
Electronic means it can be hacked.
Paper can be harvested and/or fraudulent.
We obviously don’t want a national voting system.
What is the best voting system to regain trust of everyone?

Same day, in person, electronic with a receipt that can be tracked online via a code.

A not insignificant portion of Republicans decided in 2020 that every election they lose from now on is fraudulent. It doesn’t matter what the process is. R’s only lose if it’s cheating.

Get rid of Machines and drop boxes
In person voting only, with paper ballots and ID.
Absentee ballots will allowed but must have controls in place to verify
Scrub State voter rolls every 5 years. If you want to vote again you'll have to re apply.
Was that good?

Count the damn votes by the day after the votes are due. Quite extending the vote counting. It's unreal how this is a problem in only a select few counties.

One Day Elections (24-hour) -National Holiday for Presidential
No general mail-in, no drop boxes, no harvesting
Mail In-Absentee only upon request to local government
Paper ballots only - batch/lots

i need feedback from the voting system that:
- verify that i voted
- verify where i voted and by what measure
- who/what i voted for on each ballot selection so i can verify my vote didnt get changed
Also:
- total ballots cast
- total registered voters
This could be a web site or physical mail to increase security.

I'd like a receipt listing my exact vote for that election which I could log into a system to check to make sure it registered what I voted for.
As it is, I walk into a booth, press some buttons, hit VOTE and walk away. I have no clue if what I voted for actually happened and no way to prove it happened or didn't.

Present property deed to vote. Each tax ID number is only allowed one vote.

voter id hash linked with an open source viewable database that is available to the public that anyone can count.

Not at all.
But.. take the voting in NV for example. If the person running for Treasurer gets 50,000 more votes than the senator... yeah, that's a big red flag to me.
Plenty of other examples exist as well. I question Arizona and Nevada big time.
Still trying to figure out how Desantis wiped the floor in the Florida elections even in deep blue districts, while votes seemed to disappear in other states.
Now this is all assuming the articles and stories being reported are accurate.

This. In todays world, it’s so easy to generate a unique ID that prevents double counting or non-counting.

Voting machines self contained and not connected to any internet during voting.
ALL Mail-in voting must be requested by each individual. Voter must be verified with proper identification. Voter must sign ballot after completion (signature must match request signature). Actual voter must return ballot themselves. No harvesting.
