They would have to not be allowed to earn any income besides their salary while in congress, and the salary broken down into a 40 hr work week. You don't show up, you dont get paid

Do we actually agree on something here, that both sides are shite? That's a start at least.

You want to change that you’re going to have to actually get off this board and get involved at the county level with your GOP to get better candidates supported.

The reason they don’t do anything is because what we have is what the GOPe wants because it makes their donors and the lobbyists happy.

Until MAGA wins over the GOP infrastructure so we get MAGA people winning the primary elections nothing is going to change.

But it starts with getting involved by going to meetings and trying to take leadership spots wherever you live.

In other words stop talking and go do something about it.

So what are you upset about?

If you have watched real news and listened to real congress members over the past 2 months you will know that right now nothing else has mattered until they get the Big Beautiful Bill passed.

There is too much government (taxpayer's) money and over regulation in every aspect of USA 2025. All this leads to is over priced everything and the government picking winners and losers. Politicians being the biggest winners as it's used to buy votes and fill campaign accounts.

Get government out of housing, food, education, and energy. The ship will right itself. Current path is unsustainable.

Decentralize the Government from DC. With modern technology there's no reason to have everyone in one place. Move different Departments FBI, EPA etc. to different States.
Ban government employee unions.

Do away with auditions, lobbyists, payola, scripts, role-playing, and the entire make-believe act of caring...for starters.

We need:

1) REAL elections

2) Remove the "Handler" interference and sock-puppet financing from the equation

3) NO quid pro quo OR stock buying or sell while in office allowed

4) Impeachment option after 1 year

5) Strict Term Limits (already mentioned )

6) Psychological evaluation to determine sanity, and REAL "background check" the vet for convict record and supposed "credentials"

….one should probably read the First Amendment to the Constitution….in part it says, “The right to petition government for grievances”..that’s lobbying.

The ignorance here never ceases to amaze.

Well, we can either continue to act like we’re being victimized or we can actually start putting more MAGA friendly people in Washington and stop re-electing the same old tired charlatans over and over.

We’ve always had the power to enforce our own “term limits” but we’ve rarely bothered to exercise it.
This does not work. SEE Mastriano (PA) , Masters, Kari Lake and so on...

They Palinized Kari Lake at all costs because Obama's guy said she was who democrats feared.

Turtle took all of their congress critter funding and gave it to Lisa Murkowski (Because Liz Cheney being shown her arse to the wide door) was NEVER happening again.

Turtle not only gave Murkowski more money than God, he got in a new voting mechanism to Alaska where they voted in run off's until Lisa Murkowski won.

Turtle mentored Thune. We are fricked.

Article five. Yeah.
Good luck with that.

There’s a reason the Founding Fathers made it difficult to amend the Constitution.

It didn’t work in those cases because we’ve spent the majority of past decades re-electing the same knuckleheads in our respective states and those knuckleheads still possess the power to frick up things.

If we don’t get serious as voters and start consistently getting involved and interested in the lower level/smaller types elections and lazily keep putting the same “familiar name” jokers into the Congress over and over then you’ll probably be right and it’ll never work.

But we’ve never really done that. As I mentioned before, historically voter participation levels in most elections, especially local ones, are embarrassing.

I get people don’t like what I’m saying because it involves much more time and effort than a relative quick fix via DJT’s election. But what I’m saying is not untrue.

1. Gut the power of the Executive Order and kill the over reliance on it to govern.

2. Institute term limits for all elected officials at every level of government.

*As a bonus you could try to figure out a way to make omnibus bills illegal.

Either way, 1 and 2 would solve the problem and force the Legislature to do its fricking job and legislate.

All 50 senators to get replaced with normal people. All representatives to be replaced with normal people. Maybe keep Hank the Guam island sinker so we can still make fun of him.

Wally you're right. ALL 100 senators. I was very "devisive" I guess. LOL Thanks for catching that.

Supermajorities.

Congress comes down to math. It’s extremely hard to pass sweeping legislation when the margins are so slim
