A place 2 or so blocks away from MAL is on the market for $45 million and it sits on about .25 acres, at most, and it doesn’t have water access.

The MAL property itself is worth $100s of millions.

In 2022, Forbes estimated the value of the estate at around $350 million.[24] According to Forbes, "Real estate experts outside of Palm Beach guessed that the place was worth more than $200 million. Brokers on the island thought it could be worth far more, with the most aggressive estimate coming in at $725 million. When Forbes last valued the property in March, we went with a conservative $350 million."

The real question is how much money do they owe Trump back in property taxes if they were billing him for more than it was allegedly worth.

Florida property taxes are public record.

Would be interesting to see their value.

While it won’t be “retail” it will be more than $18M

. It’s 18 acres from bay to ocean. Homes next door on .25 go from 20 to 45 million .. What we are witnessing is Soviet. No American should feel safe.

What was interesting is that when he initially wanted to buy it, the owners were asking too much... so he bought the property between MAL and the beach and was going to build on it just to block their view of the ocean. They then came to an agreement on price. I think that's right, anyways. It's close to it, anyways.

Wasn’t it also the government that owned it? Someone donated it as a southern whitehouse or something.

No. The gov declined to buy it in the early 80s.

According to wiki Post willed it to the government upon her death in 1973 and the feds gave it back to the Post Foundation in 1981 as it cost too much to maintain.

The title restrictions are pretty interesting and what this biased judge completely relied on when estimating the value.

Anytime anything comes from a public property assessor, I remember my first dispute case where I got told, "Market value is not indicative of assessed value."

Eh, what?
