It says a lot that you'd rather see your political ideology vindicated than see America win.
America is founded on freedom, which includes freedom to protest nonviolently. That's what Rapinoe is doing. Whether I agree or disagree with her stance (and I've always stood for the flag) I respect that basic freedom to protest. I also don't let Rapinoe live rent free in my head.
It's ridiculous how people are totally ready to be cool with the government squashing the right to free expression just because they don't like the expression.
