California ... but Maryland is right up there as is Northern Virginia.
Then there is Illinois. Chicago specifically ... and Massachusetts, Boston specifically, is not far behind. And of cource NY, all the big cities, but there are Conservatives to be found in areas of most blue states except many are leaving as the sickness spreads.

I’ve visited most of them, but never been to New England. Aside from them, I wouldn’t describe any state as liberal. It’s city vs countryside. New England is really the only ones in the debate, and I have yet to go there. I’ve been to Upstate New York, and it’s conservative. Save for New England and maybe Delaware (been there so I guess mark that down), I don’t think there are liberal states... either Maryland or Delaware for me, but that’s not saying much. I don’t believe in liberal states.

Hawaii is probably the most liberal state end-to-end.

Anywhere north or east from Oakland I’ve found to be decently conservative in Cali.

Not a state, but DC felt very liberal when we were there

There are more die hard conservatives in California than in the whole Southeastern US combined.

I dont think you can answer this question within the confines of a 'visit.' I have been to 49 states during my vacation travels (Alaska just too far,) but only lived in 4. I have nothing but nice things to say to the people I met on my visits.
I lived in California for a year after graduating LSU in '60. It was a wonderful state back then. I lived in Missouri for 3 years, '60-'63, and it was a wonderful place at that time. The remainder of my 76 years has been spent in Louisiana and Texas, where I am today.
Out of the thousands of people I have met on vacations, I have encountered only a handful of unfriendly people, and I don't even remember which states they were. Random incidents are not something I base any kind of conclusion on.
Within the past 30 years I have had meaningful person-to-person contact with several people in a couple of dozen states, including normally 'blue' CA, OR, WA, IL, WI, MN, ME, NH, and HI.
Politics never entered the discussion. All were very nice and agreeable.
I guess I have been lucky. Or else I don't seek out confrontation.

I thought Washington was going to be and some people absolutely are (the only plant I’ve ever been briefed on environmental terrorist during orientation) but outside of Seattle is a weird mix of socially liberal (classical sense not progressive) and conservative regards to federal law.
They are big proponents of states’ rights and I think it has to do with being a frontier state

This thread sort of proves that no state is completely one way or another, hence the reversion to observations about cities, not states.
That said, as a native of the deep South who has lived in the Northeast for many, many years, I'm here to say that with the exception of NH, most all of New England is hot for the Far Left Progressive BS that has infected our current political discourse...
