people who are disabled,
people who work out of the town where they live,
people who work too far away from their polling place to make it home in time,
people who are elderly,
people who want to vote ahead of time so they don't forget,
people who do shift work or days on-days off,
people who simply prefer to take their time deciding who to vote for,
people with social anxiety,
people in the military,
people who have vacations planned,
College students who go to school in another town,
etc..

democratic operatives who wait til the end of the election.

they find out who didn't vote and fill their name in on a mail in ballot.

after hundreds of thousands of these are done, it's announced they found some more mail in ballots and the election counting is extended.

And why are there so many of them

they need a lot of them to steal elections.

I'm going to be out of town for the Georgia runoff so I'm in the process of submitting my application for an absentee ballot now. It's remarkably difficult now! Pain in the arse, but I'm glad it's a pain in the arse in Georgia now.

Edit to update! I just found out we are doing early voting for the runoff so I don't have to deal with the absentee. Yay!

What happens when 75% of voters are lazy AF? Do you want to live in a country that is run by those contributing the very least to society/the economy?

But you have no problem going to McDonalds and Walmart. Besides, just wear the mask, and trust your vaccines. Unless you are some kind of science denier. You aren't a science denier, are you?

Yep

Just like there are people who do more as citizens than I do.

Not at all. If you bothered to read, you would know that I have no problem making voting difficult (e.g. Voter ID), for the entirely PRAGMATIC reason that those willing to undertake the effort are more likely to vote like me.

I am just asking the prior poster to explain why HE takes the position that he does.

Again, I am unapologetic about my position. I am interested in learning whether other posters are equally honest.

I have zero problem with voting taking a little bit of effort. I don't want the lazy and disinterested deciding how the government should be run.

Why?

Is a lazy person any less a citizen than you? Does the Constitution seek to exclude "lazy people" from voting?

Sought to exclude lazy cotton farmers from having to work their fields, so why not?

Most onerous? GTFOH with that shite. Since when did doing what we’ve done for decades become onerous?

That says more about people who “need” this avenue for casting a ballot than it does about me.

Logical fallacy.

You aren't excluding people because they are lazy.

Because it ensures that the vote is a product of the voters own conviction and not influenced (at the time of the vote) by third parties.
