Opposite. Ignore them, no camera on them, no discussions, let it die.

The real solution is to follow the money.
The sum of the Players contracts is based on a percentage of the NFL/team revenue. Explain to the players how much money the are loosing when the NFL looses viewers. The pool of money that must be paid out to the players is shrinking as the stadium seats remain empty.
The smart players who play for money for their families should use peer pressure on the kneelers submit.

Just change the words around a little and have fun with it...
Oh say, can you see,
by the TV's dim light,
What so proudly we hail
Is now mocked by kneeling.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
Honored high by the right,
Over football we watch,
men so gayly screaming.
Amid the "Russians' Red Square",
"Collusion!" theories fill the air,
There's no proof night after night,
And your President's still there.
Oh say, doesn't that star on his knees look so brave?
In the land of the free why does he think he's a slave?
Crowd roars!

Simple answer, IGNORE THEM. It is literally the only thing that will work. All the stupid ideas just call more attention to them, which is what they want.
Thats what they want you to do. Fine them and take money out of their pockets. They have made the nfl political and deserve to be punished
Posted on 8/11/18 at 12:03 pm to EYE_on_LSU
really simple, you kneel you lose your game check. not an NFL fine, owners just dont pay them so protests are free to continue, owners save money if players kneel to offset the lost revenues from driving away the fan base.
its a win, win, win, for all involved
players are multimillionaires who dont do shite for or donate to help blacks so they have proven by their own actions or lack thereof that they arent protesting anything real.
surely these spoiled pampered attention whole athletes dont need the money more then they need the attention they get for their fake protests

Have them go play in NFL Africa instead, you know where there’s no oppression....

Penalize each instance 15 yards, like taunting. Early on, each team would kneel, etc. and the penalties would offset.
After a while, one team would realize it would be a great advantage if the other team is the only one getting penalized. Kicking off from the 1 yard line or the opponent's 1yard line would be a considerable advantage and I think we return to normalcy quickly.

Knell once, you don’t play. Twice and your suspended 5 games. Third time and your off the team. The league should “ Black ball” anyone dismissed from a team. Game set match

Can't force them but you can frick them.
Stop watching the NFL. Boycott all things NFL.

I have actually wondered about this topic before.
My thought is to encourage them to use the opportunity to stand to draw attention to their cause in a more positive way: to stand + something.
For a player to refuse to stand is a sign of disrespect, and is saying that they are not giving their effort or attention to what the anthem represents. Yet, these same players that actively disrespect the anthem do so because they want positive attention to be directed towards a cause they think is being ignored or disrespected.
Generally speaking, if a person turns their back on giving respect to others, it becomes less likely they will have the respect of others. And, in the same manner, if someone shows respect to others, they are more likely to gain the respect of others.
So, the players should find a way to visually display their desire for positive attention to their preferred cause. If it means holding a Black Lives Matter tshirt or some other emblem of their cause in one hand as they stand and show support for the national anthem, so be it. (And, I personally don't like BLM, which I find divisive... but I do support free speech).
I personally think this is a way to show respect and simultaneously request it of others. And players can draw attention to any number of causes this way... They might hold something pink for breast cancer awareness; LeBron might hold something to support his school or some other emblem of education; a player might invite a wounded warrior or disadvantaged youth to join them on the field to support those projects, etc.). It's a way to galvanize support and to actively show support for a cause in contrast to passively ignoring others because you perceive something in society to be unfair. It's a way to find common ground and suggest working together instead of just pointing a finger and literally not standing up to doing anything.

If you were being honest with yourself you would know for a fact that they would be criticized for doing this as well. 100% chance.
