Being willing to justify government control over what we eat based on the existence of other government powers that shouldn’t exist is the height of stupidity.
They can't think anymore, bro. They believe State control of the individual is virtuous and Individual autonomy is immoral. The Church of State has taught them to not only CONFORM and be COMPLIANT, but also to agitate to abolish the freedoms of others. As the OP and the Statist sycophants do here. You know, because (insert Democrat Party/Statist/Progressive/Socialist slogan of the day here}.

I dont support banning anything but promoting cane sugar would be of tremendous benefit to dirt poor economies in Asia.

People should be able to make their own decision on what they put into their body. I don’t need the fricking government telling me what I can and cannot eat

I don’t think government should dictate things like this, but I wished companies would provide foods that are free from it or give us a choice.

was the only reason they changed to HFCS from sugar is to save money? there are no benefits at all?

Our food in general is poison. You look at the back of any box and it’s all processed garbage. Even bread “enriched bleached flour” — any normal person should say, “what the frick is this?” Forever chemicals in our food, toxic dyes in our clothes. Corporations run the show and our health is not and never will be a priority. Should they ban it? I don’t know, I think they should regulate many things that we are allowed to eat. It’s all garbage.

Of course not, what does health of the consumer have to do with profit?

Some foods are already banned in this country. I’m pretty sure that black pudding is one of them.

Now if we could just get you Progressive groomers to apply this same standard to Trans people being sterilized, mutilated and castrated by medical professionals with full State approval.

Comparing Europe to America without parsing out demographic, ethnic and genetic differences is often misleading.

Look at how quickly you went from demanding State control of the free market to muttering utter nonsense. A very undisciplined mind you have, ripe for being ruled by whatever emotions you have on any particular day. Ban this! Ban that! Expand this! Expand that! Not a single bedrock principle to be found. You are your appetite, nothing more, nothing less. Tomorow it will be on to the next thing.

While I believe most things are fine in moderation, sugary sodas are the closest thing to poison the populace consumes. With that being said, the government should inform but not ban. But they will never do that because of the corn lobbyist.

I remember when Michael Bloomberg banned large+ soft drinks to all New Yorkers, even for those casuals who didn't over-indulge on syrupy drinks or live sedentary lifestyles.
There's nothing like good ole government-knows-what's-best to legislate/limit individual/personal behavior by thinking-for & saving some irresponsible people from themselves, while also strangling the freedom of choice of responsible citizens.
And why stop at HFCS? or soft drinks? If you think government should dictate what's best for you, screw their "recommended daily allowances", you should start rooting them on to outright ban all high-sugar, high-fat, & high-salt product consumption. You'll feel all noble saving the fatties & the diseased from their toxic freedom of choice, amiright?

Fructose has a higher glycemic index than sucrose. HFCS is in fact worse than sugar.

Honey is pure alright-- pure poison. It's essentially sucrose enzymatically hydrolyzed by bees into equal amounts of fructose and glucose-- it's the original HIGH FRUCTOSE syrup! And, unlike blackstrap molasses, it lacks any significant nutritional value.
