What is the thinking behind letting anarchists destroy your city and attack LEOs?

Do these dim party mayors/governors actually think they are giving their constituents what they want? So your choice is either let anarchist scum destroy your city or call in the NG. These "leaders" will let you die before they will ask for Trump's help.

Local liberal leadership are cowards.
The rioters are on the same side of the political aisle as the leadership, so they allow it to continue.
They are hoping Trump gets the blame. But when you refuse to call the national guard, well it's kinda hard to blame the President.

Democrats rely on a coalition of very selfish, hateful people that are bound together by their hatred of "whitey".
They can NOT appear for one second to oppose any of the hundreds of splintered factions they depend on to maintain power.
"Doing the right thing" is anathema to many of the factions they depend on, so they have to sit by, watch it burn and blame the white-boogeyman when one of those groups acts out.
It really is a sickness of epic proportions.

The Democrat party is controlled by the radicals. That's the just of it. The Democrats put themselves in this position. They had a chance to turn away from the radical, communists, socialists, Bernie types. However, they saw it was a chunk of their voting base and because they are Dems, ONLY POWER MATTERS. So they have deeply courted the radicals so much to as now the radicals control the Democrat party. It's why so many sane Democrats have left the party. The Democrats embraced anarchism and turned away from rationalism. So now, they have no choice but to condone mass violence. It's a part of their platform. If they turn away from them now, then they really won't have anyone that will vote for them.
They lost the white male vote. They are quickly losing the black vote. They lost the Clinton (Bill) Democrat vote. A Kennedy Democrat is now considered a Republican. Their base is the Bernie Sanders Anarcho-Communists.

Their ultimate goals are money power.
Keep enough sheep in line, and they'll have all the power they desire, over a city that is eventually broke......but at this current time of government bailouts, it will be a while before that happens. so, they are voted in, and will do as they wish to continue to be in power, and steadily getting paid. none of them give zero shits about what any voter truly wants.

1. They want Trump to send in federal troops hoping they can pin a Kent State situation on him.

I would say 99% of the time, it is option 1.

The democrat party is being held hostage by big money backed extreme leftists and these mayors and others fear an attack from their left if they try to stop it. One thing every politician focuses on is re-election. They have seen the centrist (very relative) in the democrat party be primaried and starved of national funding if they do not toe the hard left line.
They are not operating on what is best for the majority of even democrat voters. There are a lot of dems that would vote for satan himself as long as he has a "D" behind his name.
