People on this board don’t understand American interests and don’t understand that we wouldn’t be as wealthy and powerful as we are, unless we are in control of the world. People don’t realize what they’re asking for when they say America needs to stay in its own lane.

The quick answer is self-defense to an existential threat. That is always justified.
But, there is a line of thought that if your nation stops expanding in an empire -like fashion, it will begin to contract and die, which is also an existential threat.

Entry into a war should always be subject to strict congressional approval. This new world order, covert military strategery can justify a "conflict" anywhere at any time and make it seem like a minor operation until the deal goes sour. Then the caskets start rolling in.
Even with congressional approval, I'm not sure much would change. There's too much money in war. My state is rolling in missile money and we're not alone. For all the MAGA bullshite our Senators and reps like to pump, the second their "defense" money gets threatened, they'll lose the red caps in a hurry. I have been encouraged by the general anti-war tone of those around Trump right now. I hope it holds.

So we should never have and or support an ally? Is there no other country in the world that we should defend if they are attacked?
We don't really have allies now. Our allies are the frat brother who sleeps on the couch, eats all the food, drinks all the beer, and never pays a bill.

When. We. Are. Attacked.
We provide for national DEFENSE. Not national offense. Not other people’s defense. Not policing democracy around the world. Our own national defense.
Go fricking scorched earth if someone attacks US. Otherwise. No war.

all fighting is for nothing but money. until you fully grasp that, you are delusional and living a lie. how obvious does it have to be for you people to stop being blind

Enter/engage when we are under attack or imminent attack.
Support our allies (but do not engage our troops) when they are under attack or imminent attack.

We shouldn't have fought in any war we've participated in these last 115 years

It is our war to fight when it is on our soil or when our national security is threatened.

When the Russians get to Germany we will probably have to start bailing out Europe, again.

When we are attacked or when a vital or critical threat to our country exists. Those are the only two cases we should ever go to war over. The definition of what constitutes a vital or critical American interest has been very watered down in my opinion.

How many American Servicemen are you willing to sacrifice in whatever war you're talking about?
Those Service Members volunteered of their own free will. No one held a gun to their head. The Military isn't a jobs program, it's a covenant of risk and reward. You go when youre told to go, and you keep your mouth shut.

Does it have to be on US soil for the Poli Board to think we should engage?
Yes.

We should enter wars when the situation is too big to be handled by Team America World Police.

1) If the territory or military of the US is attacked.
2) If one of our formal allies --> allies by treaty is attacked, if the treaty calls for mutual defense.
3) To defend our borders against unchecked immigration. The idea that we can't deploy our insanely expensive military to defend our own border is nonsense.
That's it. That's the list.
There's more flexibility about sending military aid, but even there we should be careful.

IF someone attacks us on our soil, destroy. Outside of that, stay out of other people's shite.
So if China completely invades Mexico or Canada just sit on our hands? Where do you people come from?

The US has two distinct natural blessings:
a. We have a wider array of natural resources than any other country. If every country was forced into isolationism we would fare the best.
b. We are almost impossible to invade. Two giant oceans and two bordering countries we could defeat in a week if they got nasty.
That does not make us the policemen of the world. After Vietnam and the Middle East we need to stop trying.
