Do you not question this article at all? Something is fishy here.
Maybe so. I am not familiar with immigration law. Maybe her shaky immigration status disqualified her from applying? I really don't know.

What is surprising is that you don't have any of the same obvious questions about the article.
This situation tracks with the current administration's history of detaining immigrants for what I consider to be petty reasons.

In other words, there is no logic behind this deportation but oh well? That's an actual human. She is being sent to some foreign land after almost 50 years and this is your response
Biden created this overwhelming immigration problem. There is no room for concessions or considerations anymore, the problem is too far gone.
Obviously, she is a human. A human in the US illegally, she was caught, and will now be removed from the US.

How does an illegal alien have a driver’s license, and a social security card?
This. WTF.

Unauthorized immigrants are not eligible for Social Security benefits, but they may contribute to the system through payroll taxes without ever receiving benefits. Legal immigrants can receive Social Security if they meet the necessary work and eligibility requirements.
quote:
Legal immigrants must meet several work and eligibility requirements to qualify for Social Security benefits:
Work Credits: Immigrants need to earn a certain number of work credits, which are based on their work history in the U.S. As of 2025, individuals can earn one work credit for every $1,640 in earnings, up to a maximum of four credits per year. Generally, 40 work credits (equivalent to about 10 years of work) are required to qualify for retirement benefits.
Legal Status: Immigrants must have legal status in the U.S. This includes being a lawful permanent resident (green card holder) or having a valid work visa.
Age Requirement: To receive retirement benefits, individuals must be at least 62 years old. For disability benefits, they must meet the definition of disability as defined by the Social Security Administration.
Application Process: Eligible immigrants must apply for Social Security benefits and provide necessary documentation, including proof of work history and legal status.
Residency: While immigrants can qualify for benefits based on their work history, they must also reside in the U.S. to receive benefits.
Tax Contributions: Immigrants must have paid Social Security taxes on their earnings to qualify for benefits.
These requirements ensure that only those who have contributed to the system through work and taxes can receive Social Security benefits.
She's missing that entire "Legal Status" portion.

Just like you made up that this woman has been deported
Ok, we can pretend ICE is detaining her for no reason if it will make you feel better.

Only thing I can think of is he’s sending a message to people and the fear might be effective in getting people to self deport. In which case he should just cut off sanctuary cities and fine the shite out of businesses that use illegals.
This is what it’s about. Trump doesn’t have enough firepower for actual mass deportations and these heartthrob stories that leftists like cubbies share and obsess over go viral and prevent lots of them from coming or staying.
I agree though Trump isn’t doing near enough especially to business owners.

50 years and never bothered to get her citizenship? Boo fricking hoo
Posted on 6/25/25 at 2:44 pm to 4cubbies
The logic is they have to go back.
The purpose is to make America great again.
The purpose is to make America great again.

What laws did she break?
Unlawful Presence (INA Section 212(a)(9)) & Visa Overstay (INA Section 222(g))
If she ever left the country and came back: Illegal Re-Entry (INA Section 276)
All that said, if she was under an agreement with the federal government and fulfilling her end, that should be taken into account. Along with that though, she should have long ago began working on getting her citizenship. Fifty years?

Biden has nothing to do with this woman's situation. He did not order her detention.

It's a pretty obvious question that these dipshits at NOLA.com should have asked.

You do know that the Obama administration deported over 8 million immigrants, right? You never batted a fricking eye at that. Even now, you don't care about that. You only care about the 200,000 that Trump deported.

She was here illegally. You can’t do that.

Deport every fricking illegal, I don’t give a frick if they’ve done nothing else wrong. America is full. GTFO and emigrate legally. She had PLENtY of time to try that (decades) and she didn’t.

Some degree of flexibility short of immediate deportation

This immigration mess is so far out of control, there's no room for flexibility. That is on Biden.
He created this, Trump is cleaning it up, it's a huge part of why Trump won.

On its face, she should have been a textbook case for asylum given the timeframe.
This. Thousands of Iranians from the same time period as her were given asylum... why was she different. Her dad worked for the Shah. That's, as you said, a textbook case, is it not?
Although I have no problem with a lady who has been here 2/3rds of her life.. and didn't come across the border illegally, has caused zero problems, and actually made a nice life for herself being allowed to stick around. But that's me. ICE should be focusing on other types of illegals, in my humble opinion.
