Perhaps. But I’d assume that people who fled the revolution aren’t exactly who we are talking about. If she has connections to the ayatollah then frick her.
Lady sought asylum at the time. Many many others in her situation also did so and were granted such. She explicitly wasn’t. I have no idea exactly why, but the fact that the sob story article didn’t even want to touch on the issue was a pretty big red flag for me.
I’m probably inclined to fall in the let bygones be bygones camp for people like this, but in my view glossing over potentially pertinent pieces of information like this (or just outright ignoring it) is not real helpful in getting discerning citizens anxiously sympathetic to this cause as some terrible horror story of current policy in action.

She's illegal. frick off.
No shite. She’s getting deported because she got flagged after trying to claim federal benefits she’s wasn’t entitled to.

Kashanian's application was rejected by the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals over a decade later, but federal authorities granted her a "stay of removal" — an administrative reprieve handed out at immigration officials' discretion under which they agree not to deport someone provided they appear as ordered for immigration check-ins.
You morons can't even figure out simple words.

She. Was. Breaking. The. Law.
Go stay in Iran and report back how they handle it.

What simple words are we looking for? At her final immigration check in, she was told that it was time for her to check out.

Did you read the thread? Because it was already posted that she got caught using a convenience marriage to get her green card which burned any possibility of gaining residency legally.
I did not. I have a job I don't time to read through all of that. This was not reported in the linked article or the story on WWL this evening. Well there you go. Good for ICE, deport her arse for not following the rules.

Is it just Mexicans you don’t want here?
Latin Americans are the overwhelmingly enormous majority of illegals, so yes.

Nowhere near enough. Ten times that wouldn’t be sufficient.

portion is focusing on Iranians because of the Iran/Israel conflict
So people who left because of the revolution would make sense?

What I dont understand is how anyone could be denied asylum from Iran in 1978 - 1988??
I was in college when the Shah was overthrown. We had tons of Iranian students over here and they were allied with the Shah.

I agree. Just find it both petty and hilarious in light of the fact that we aren’t even trying to deport people that are out in the open.

Trump overcame all odds and got elected 3 times He told you what he was as going to do unlike Obama who gave Iran Billions in cash.
You had your run. Your people destroyed our Nation.
Why are you arse hurt? You got your moneys worth.
It’s our time now.
Try harder and you can get back to destroying our Nation.
