I have over the top expectations for the cars I buy but that won't drive prices one penny if I can't pay for it.

Prices go up in direct response to the ability to charge the price.

Unfortunately it's two-pronged, at the local level and through actual federal subsidization.

This I agree with.

We're almost done with page 1 and you've still not even attempted to answer the OP.

There is no answer to be given, because I’m not a liberal. But his implication in his OP is that this problem was created by democrats, which is clearly not true. It has been fed by both parties for FAR too long.

So if you want me to say I agree this is a problem, it is. You don’t make those large sums of money available to young kids with no idea how to manage it.

Satisfied?

Jindal is a pretty decent example for GOP politicians combatting tyrants in higher education as of late

Nothing pretty about his efforts at all. In fact he stopped well short of what his ability suggested could do.

If Jindal was really serious about it, he would’ve closed SUNO down and told the race hustlers and Democrats in orleans parish to frick off as it’s not like they voted for him anyway.

And he shouldn’t have stopped at that, he should’ve shut down a whole bunch of community colleges and couple other 4 years as well.

We have way too many colleges in Louisiana for a population of its size.

Just another example of Jindal half assing it and then mailing it in for a bullshite presidential run that was dead in the water months before Iowa.

Why aren't we using technology to expand online college.

Get away from brick and mortar and you will smash costs.

Meh. It asks a question. You could have simply answered it. But you went in to defense mode.

I will point out that way back in the 80s, Republicans tried to increase the GPA requirement to continue getting Pell Grant and Democrats acted like Republicans wanted to burn schools down.

Not to mention, the OBVIOUS driver of college costs is ability to pay and ability to pay is ENTIRELY the creation of leftist policies. Sure. Republicans have sucked at trying to repeal them. But they weren't proposed in the first place by Republicans.

Finally. Were someone on the right to propose reigning in federal student AID, you wouldn't get one fricking Democrat vote in favor. So, let's not try and pretend they didn't fricking cause it.

You just had to slip something in there about black people and diversity. It’s like an obsession and you couldn’t resist. T I’d like to see data ( the actual data) that supports your argument about administrative costs.

Nah he is referring to conservatives vs. liberals as policy solutions to reverse the tide of a growing problem, not trying to diagnose whose fault it is. For all you can tell from the OP, the origins of the issue might actually be bipartisan in nature.

But you are being a twat just to be contrarian.

Also the chair of the Education committee last year sponsored a bill trying to take out some of the subsidization in federal loans but couldn't get enough support intraparty.

Thank goodness you were able to get JBE into office to address this. I’m sure it’s priority 1 for him and the Democrats.

You jumped the shark with your “IF a Republican tried.” They have to try before you point a finger.

Democrats are assholes with their spending policies, but so are Republicans. I don’t make excuses for fricking any of them.

I voted for David Vitter against JBE with no regrets at all. Not my fault so many people who call themselves conservative voted against their own interests with their sky screaming over hookers and West Point honor code.

I will not just be voting against JBE this year but will also be donating money to the conservative candidate with the best chance to win this fall.

Not in the slightest, and certainly not like your being a twat on the grammar sorrows.

By the way, this is all subjective. You’re interpreting your way, I’m interpreting mine. Neither of us has a clue. He will get on here and say he was absolutely meaning what you’re saying, because your politics are the good guy around here, and around and around the shite cycle on here goes.

Sorry. The left loves to try this. THEY push shite. Get it passed. Then, try and say the other side shares blame for failing to repeal it. Hell. They tried this with Obamacare. "Well, why didn't Republicans fix our frick up!!???" Absurdity.

Yeah. That's fricking retarded. Ever last one of these policies driving the problem are liberal creations. EVERY LAST ONE. To pretend otherwise is silliness.

Everyone forgets: these are state schools. You could just order them not to raise prices.
