Idk, honestly. I know quite a few IR couples, and politically, we're all over the place The political projections that get foisted upon IR couples (sight unseen) are pretty hilarious, though. Por ejemplo, I've lost count of the times folks have implied to me/my wife that she "turned" me to be more right of center. Truth is, I was MORE conservative prior to meeting her, while she was more sympathetic to liberalism (in the classic sense). I'd say I dragged her Overton window much further right, on the whole, not the other way around.

Same could be said for same-sex couples, and people with a sex identity crisis; but they are all over the place in advertisement too. As others pointed out, it's because they need to hit a quota. A lot of the unions put out requirements for over-representation of "marginalized" groups in order to work with union groups (this goes for on-screen & off-screen talent). And, if you hire 1 union group, damn near your entire production team needs to be union.

And, since I mainly watch tv later in the evening when the kids are gone, I get to see the damn HIV commercials every commercial break. Of course, those make sense because HIV is more prevalent in the black & gay communities.

I’m in an interracial marriage as many others in this thread are and like them, my wife and I find it bizarre. Progressives like to look at us like we’re zoo animals in my experience.

Who created this quota? By what law? Was it necessary? And by what authoritah? What about "OVER-Representation"? If it was a past "problem" ("too many whites, straights"), why isn't it now with the current inverse representation?)

Quota are technically unlawful, unfair, and...obtrusive. All of which make any Quota system Stalinist-Communistic.

I could give literally two shits about interracial couples. I have two lovely young blonde haired girls who will be absolute beauties when they grow up, and ten times out of ten I would rather them come home with a patriotic, conservative, America loving black guy than a 6'3" blue-eyed, square-jawed football playing white leftist. It's not even close.

As for commercials, I think they overrepresent black folks in commercials across the board for woke points, but that's like item 348z on my list of fricked up woke shite to worry about in America today.
