the big one is produce. You can probably find good sbustitutes for most other goods.
But we import a shite ton of produce from mexico. Its like 50-60% of all imported produce comes from mexico.
All of that just went up 20%. Its going to kill the american consumer.

According to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Mexico was the third-largest supplier of goods imported into the U.S. in 2015. The top category was vehicles, including parts at $74 billion. The U.S. also imports electrical machinery, mineral fuels, and optical and medical equipment. The U.S. imported $21 billion in agricultural products in 2015.

If Twinkies and Swiss cake rolls go up 20% it might kill the American consumer. Not many are eating a lot of produce.

In this country, consumers can choose other alternatives. Name an import subject to taxation that Mexico has a monopoly on.
IF a tariff turns out to be more than a negotiating bluff, American consumers won't be paying 20% more for goods. They'll be plenty competition for our dollars.
