I think it was his phone. They showed the gun, which matched the video in which one of the agents takes it and is walking out of the scrum.

Looks pretty clear his phone was in his right hand. But his left hand to me looks to be what they were fighting for. In Stout’s slow mo video to me it looks like a knife. Maybe switch blade? Almost looks like a blade deploys and they shoot.
