I don't mind the pick. I honestly didn't see a bad choice for Trump this time around for VP.

Any of his choices were going to be far superior to what we have now in that hyena we have as VP now.

PDJT knows that all he needs is Pennsylvania and this is a done deal. The polls tell you GA and AZ are going red. This is his bid for that state.

When challenged about being anti-Trump before, he can say he changed his mind.

After all, that's what millions of Americans are going through right now while they process their choices.

So what will the Democrats hold against him? During the campaign?

Thank you Pf. I know we have our differences at times; however, I appreciate the insight.

Yeah, the notion that there was either some super duper slam dunk or some terribly boneheaded pic, is nothing but silly nay-saying folly really.

And you’re worried about those ads….why?

Enlighten me. Who is the audience that says “well I was considering Donald Trump but then he picked a VP who previously insulted him so now I won’t”?

This is why swing states are swing states. There are people that exist that aren't on x or tigerdroppings every day consuming politics. Some of those people can and are swayed to one side or the other. When these people see and hear that the VP nominee calls his running mate Hitler and is the worst nominee in history, they may believe it. This is why these places are swing states. If this didn't exist, there wouldn't be ads in the first place.

Also, it's hard to tell the other side to stop calling you Hitler and a threat to democracy when your very own running mate has said the same thing.

I hope I am wrong. The advisors know more than me. I'm just a dude from rural Tennessee and am giving my opinion.

It's one of the more perplexing narratives I've seen peddled.

They'll replay the quotes of Vance being anti-Trump back in the day.

Vance has a good story, there's no denying that. Getting out of his childhood situation to get to where he is at only 39 is something.

He;s a Midwest guy, we need the Ohio, Mich., Wisconsin & Penn. vote.

PLUS.........take this to the bank, if Trump chose Rubio, the South Car. Sen. or any person the Deep State thinks they can control, they would snuff out Trump in a timely well set up hit. With Vance, hes more conservative than Trump and the Deep State hate him.

So, Vance is a sort of Insurance Policy.

I forgot, his wife is the daughter of immigrants from India. So you have someone to rebut the "all Republicans are racist," bullshite, as well as someone besides Trump who can talk about immigration and border security, how his inlaws came here the right/legal way and how they and their child(ren) prospered.

Also, she was a clerk for Kavanaugh in his circuit court days and also Clerked for Roberts at SCOTUS.

I don’t like this pick and I’m the stereotypical independent that just recently decided to vote for Trump.

Seems like it’s just taking your foot off the neck of your opponent.

Go moderate and this thing would be over already.

He brings people on my small sector to the table, FWIW. Far right, Christian conservative "we might have to break up the country" types who've never claimed the MAGA label and don't have loyalty to Trump.

I'm not voting for Trump because of Vance, mind you. And I'm not entirely convinced Vance isn't a guy playing a part, but he speaks our language really well and he could be a very good ambassador to the non-populist far right who isn't well served by Trump nor by GOPe types. He's far smarter and more cunning than Mike Pence, if that helps.

This is good info and a good response.

Negatives: he would not be really ready to be president during the next four years if required.

Posivities: young...expected to carry on the MAGA movement beyond Trump, good speaker (will destroy Kamala), puts Ohio in R camp, a common guy who made it big, ex-military, shows that anti-Trumpers can come around, etc.
