You are correct. Now I see you've gotten the picture as to why it is so unbelievably important to get our citizens out no matter what.
It does not matter who they are, what they believe or where they may have been born. Even my most hated political rival does not deserve abandonment by their own leader.

I agree. Shift everything to Bagram where you can secure the base. HKIA being next to neighborhoods makes it practically indefensible. From Bagram you can also run rescue missions to extract Americans trapped in Kabul.

You have one option now. And it fricking sucks.
1. Mobilize all available troops in the area back to Afghanistan to secure Kabul (fricking boneheaded idea to leave from Kabul). You also secure Bagram and redevelop whatever infrastructure you need to get aircraft in and out.
2. Insert special forces to conduct rescue missions for all known Americans in the country.
3. There should be no Afghan that can look up and not see American air assets.
4. When Americans are fully out, liquidate any remaining American military equipment.
5. Neutralize any foreign national that stands in the way.

If there is pushback… you tell the leaders where their family is and the F18s are about to put 5000 lb bombs where they are and the Apache’s are covering egress routes.
If still pushback… make good on promise.

Actually you are wrong. You bring in massive troops, point blank tell them you are getting our people out, and anyone that remotely interferes will be obliterated...and you back it up.
