Here is what should happen
1. Reatake Bagram and set it up as the base of operations.
2. Close HKIA permanently.
3. Tell the Taliban we will leave whenever we get all of our people out and no sooner. If they want us to leave sooner then they will help and facilitate this.

1. Pudding hour for our CIC. After he gets his pudding we will just fly out of there and do nothing. Leaving all those americans and SIV's behind.

Agreed, there’s nothing at this point you can do to salvage this situation. If you send in Troops they’re going to die in these bombings. If you don’t send troops, the stranded are going to die once we leave.

There is no possible action that won't result in more death's. It's a cop out to ask what we should do going forward without acknowledging what led us to this point.
I've never had this feeling before. I imagine this is what adults at the time felt during 9/11.

There should be ability to recognize a fluid situation and pivot accordingly.
For whatever reason, this administration does not seem to have that ability - or doesn't want to do it -- not sure which is worse.
The notion that there are "plans" and/or "deals" should be able to be thrown out the window when actual lives of our citizens are at stake - especially when you have what is supposed to be the greatest fighting force in the world.
