Frankly, that’s pretty much the same situation with most of the harshly criticized (and oftentimes insulted, to boot) political/national figures around here. Folks just see other folks hammering an individual and they join in on the frenzy, without really having researched anything on the subject/person themselves, certainly not prior to the aforementioned harsh and insulting “criticism.” It’s a classic groupthink mentality, or as it’s referred to in less “mature” terms, monkey see, monkey do.
