What does it mean that God gave them over to their sins?

Full context below. Doesn’t it mean that people are unable to distinguish between what’s morally right and wrong?

Are we there yet in minority or majority? Politics are just a search for that moral line is it not?

quote:

24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to tthe dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Are the above verses to some folks, like a cross to Dracula?

You either have Union with God or Union with sin, so man chose sin and God "gave them up."?

We are definitely there in the acceptance of all of this…. We have exchanged the Truth for a lie and it will not get better…

It means once the social scales tip, the slippery slope is fast that almost everyone will fall for it.

It means "we just want to marry" and "it's not a baby" were the hills we all died on.

It’s like when Israel whined about the manna he gave them so much quail they got sick and many died - you want to go down the road of debauchery you end up with what we are seeing daily and it’s going to get worse until people wake up out of their delusion like the prodigal - at some point they will get sick of rolling in the mud with the pigs

Dracula doesn't mind the Cross itself so much. His disdain is directed towards those who would brandish the Cross directly in the face of Non-Christians in an attempt to make them feel bad about themselves. Dracula is opposed to this kind of exclusionary and mean Christian behavior.

IMHO, all of the Dracula movies have been misinterpreted, because they don't emphasize this fact.

Dracula is a Democrat for Freedom of Religion. He doesn't like to see the Cross to be used to push religion on anybody. That's why he gets upset when Dr. Helsing brandishes the Cross at him. Helsing's behavior stems from Crusaderism and Colonialism, and Dracula is vehemently opposed to both of these White Supremacist characteristics of Western Culture.

I think God is saying

“hey, if you want (sin)I’ll allow you to have it. But if you want me instead you’ll have to give that up. Your choice, baw.”

I feel guilt and responsibility for this because, at the time, I bought into it as well. I bought into the "we just want the same rights as straights", which seemed fair. I thought the people who said "if we allow this, next people will be (whatever crazy thing, marrying dogs, children, etc.)" were nuts.

Looks like I should have listened.

The answer was to get the government out of marriage, not to redefine it, but it's too late for that now.

ETA: Unfortunately, most people will ignore the obvious conclusion you came to, that they were wrong. Instead they will just move further into the acceptance of depravity.

Thankfully we got prayer out of schools, Dracula is now free to inject fentanyl and beat disrespectful white kids with water guns to death.

It means that there comes a point at which God removes His restraining influence.

I think they know what is right and wrong. I just don’t think they believe there are repercussions for what they do.
They have allowed their sexual desires, or deviancies, to control their thoughts. They don’t care what they have to do to get there, but reaching their sexual pleasure is paramount to anything.

“‘Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled.
Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.
But you must keep my decrees and my laws.
The native-born and the foreigners residing among you must not do any of these detestable things, for all these things were done by the people who lived in the land before you, and the land became defiled.
And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you.
“‘Everyone who does any of these detestable things—such persons must be cut off from their people.
Keep my requirements and do not follow any of the detestable customs that were practiced before you came and do not defile yourselves with them.
I am the Lord your God.’”

Yeah I kinda agree, certain folks have conniptions about “thou shalt not” but the alternative is much worse, and yet we aren’t allowed the currency of absolutes

I believe that piece of scripture might be referring to the removal of shame, or a conscience.

I remember a day on PT when some well known posters were heavy porn advocates. It truly seems juvenile now. I doubt they see the slope even now.

No doubt about it, and we all have a certain amount of shame, do we get that shame covered like the prodigal was with the fathers robe, or do we ignore it on a very temporal basis? That’s the choice

He fully permitted them to do what they already desired to do.
