Yeah that probably applies to most countries though so I don't think that's something that is uniquely American in nature.
Fine, picky.
I learned recently that in the UK you can buy a suppressor at a sporting goods store. I find it really dumb that I have to submit to anal to get one over here in the land of the free.

What are some things you think are stupid about American society?
People being so comfortable and wealthy compared to the rest of the world and still finding something to complain and be unhappy about. Being born in modern America is hitting the fricking lottery. Appreciate it and make the most of it, enjoy life.
Also while our consumerism and productivity is good for maintaining a strong economy, we focus and stress way too much on keeping up with the joneses and work ourselves into the grave with stress and poor diet choice. It’s ok to stop work and take time to have a decent meal instead of drive thru at McDonald’s for lunch, or go for a run in the evening or play ball with your kids instead of doing work on the computer.
So many people work to death so they can afford something like a nice boat just to show everyone they have it but to pay for it they might have time to actually use it once a year. It’s not a healthy habit for our society imo

Also falls under consumerism but just how wasteful we are. Discarding perfectly good items in the name of trends.
Agree here. Nobody fixes things anymore. My wife is the worst about throwing away stuff without trying to fix it. Most recently the dryer. She wanted a new one, I said wait let me look at it first it might be a simple fix. Took it apart and used a multimeter to check circuits, it was just the switch. 25 dollar part to fix
Also I hate how so many items are designed to be obsolete or break without possibility of repair. I get that it’s done to maximize sales and profit but it’s wasteful of resources imo

1) We trust a stranger’s online review more than our own judgment.
2) Huge trucks used exclusively to commute to an office and haul exactly zero things except penis envy.
3) We invented 40 types of milk.
4) We’ll ignore a check-engine light for six months but panic instantly when Wi-Fi drops for six seconds.
5) Tipping culture math that requires a calculator, a moral compass, and mild anxiety.

Yeah at some point people have to move on. Same with the natives. As if they weren't at war with each other anyway. They're probably lucky we got to them first and not the Chinese or some other culture that would have destroyed and colonized the area eventually anyway.
I hate that only whites get demonized for slavery, colonialism, etc. but nobody cares about all the races in history who had slaves or conquered lands. Every race in history at some point participated in those things, and as horrible as it may have been it also led to great advancements in civilization because the stronger groups at that time in history took control and found innovative ways that gave them advantages, and then others learned from that.

Not really... 100% of the shite I talk about is 100% correct.

Here’s my list: (in no particular order)
1. Stupid people who vote for their own demise only because Trump said mean things.
2. Weird idolization of celebrities and internet “influencers”.
3a. Immigrants who leave shitty countries to come here, not assimilate, and try to turn our country into the shitty country they just left.
3b. People who defend the previous group.
4. People who support communism/socialism but refuse to actually move to a country that already has it.
5. People who claim to be all about science but can’t even explain what a woman is and thinks that guys can give birth.
6. But probably the dumbest thing is the way teachers and media are allowed to indoctrinate kids with all of the above bullshite. Nobody reports straight facts anymore. There's always an opinion attached somehow.

People that pay for TD premium services. I mean the basic is almost as good. No need to brag about the premium

Getting our health insurance through our employers
It makes no sense
Why not just raise pay and have people purchase their insurance on their own?

Makes plenty of sense if you know the history of it. Benefits were used to attract the better workers. Different, more new, benefits are still being used today.
