What a stupid comment. Then again, you consistently prove that you are reduced to posting verbal vomit like this because you can't defend your idiotic comments.

This is my perception fwiw: He appears to be purging Dems in the LSU system .Some of those Dems have been competent/popular . He appears to be replacing everyone with SW La loyalists and wants to replace coaches and administrators with those his loyalists are promoting. Most fans feel political pressure like this from the governor is a throwback to an era when mediocrity reigned and Good ol boys ruled. Most people want an AD who is independent from the governor/ party politics. He is also doing this clumsily and cartoonishly with public grandstanding in a way that reinforces negative stereotypes about Louisiana. He is also misrepresenting the risk to the taxpayers. He then put the taxpayers , by his logic, on the hook for 6 million more by firing Woodward. All of this, in a circus, environment, which makes LSU a potentially less attractive destination for coaches. All of this self inflicted.
That’s why people feel like they are watching amateur hour.

This is the biggest problem. He's just a shitty cartoon character.

Landry is focused on issues that matter to us Louisiana folks. He knows we are sick and tired of the liberal ideology that has plagued the athletic department in the state, and he won’t sit idly by while the great people of Louisiana are forced to put up with a subpar product on the field that doesn’t reflect our hard working conservative values.

Yep. As I said, he tries hard to be Trump but has the charisma of a sloth and the articulation skills of Kamala.

which apparently isn’t the case if you read the rant.
Just imagine if Kelly was still the coach.
Woodie comes out and gives him a vote of confidence going into the bye week. *Rant loses its shite over Kelly being retained and given a vote of confidence
Now, imagine if Woodie was still AD and Kelly is still fired. Comes out and says, "I am in daily contact with the BOS and interim president. We have a search committee. We have a solid plan and we are already hearing about interest from some of the best coaches in America." *Rant loses its shite over Woodie still having control over what is clearly his responsibility as AD.
So, Landry, reading the room, steps in and pushes Woodie out (he was probably on the way out anyway), which is what collective wisdom was as soon as it was announced that Kelly was fired. Now, Landry's instincts on details aren't great, but the sentiment was right, "Well, I was going to fire his arse, anyway, so might as well get it over with now." *Rant loses its shite, "What is Governor Dum Dum doing? We LOVED Brian Kelly. We LOVE Woodie."
Great leadership (IMHO), but just poor execution and messaging. I have to give him credit, though, he's very, very transparent. That, in and of itself, is refreshing.

Imo, you nailed it. Landry stepped up and played a pivotal role in getting rid of both Kelly and Woodward. Imo, that needed to be done (And 99% of posters on Tiger Rant were screaming for Kelly to be fired last Saturday night).
Landry's speaking skills probably don't impress anybody, but he did the right thing. Now, the next important phase is to see 1) Who the replacements are, and 2) How the next head coach's contract is structed.

Landry Derangement Syndrome is definitely a thing. This was obvious when people started making up petty reasons to be upset about him as soon as he was elected. Like Trump, his detractors look for any reason to complain, no matter how dumb and irrational it makes them look.
You don't even have to like Landry to see how many people let their emotions take over when he is involved. Making mountains out of molehills just so they can bitch about something. It's fascinating behavior.

That sounds great to me. Is that what you are seeing? Because that really sounds like platitudes. Platitudes that appeal to me, but platitudes nonetheless.
How are we better administratively or “ on the field” since he interjected himself? Are you pleased with how this has unfolded? Personally, I feel like I’m watching a Joe Aleeva production with little dashes of Curly Hallman and Joe Dean thrown in. Nothing about this feels professional or competent. It feels emotional and political.

He created a buffoon public persona targeting support of the literal dumbest people in Louisiana and was criticized for this prior to the election, for good reason.

Landry presents a borderline retard stance, is criticized for it by rational and intelligent types, and you try to spin that response as the "dumb and irrational" side
This is emotional thinking at its apex.

Letting morons get up and speak and embarrass the state, the university, etc is triggering. Everytime he opens his mouth is some brain rot nonsense.
Please don’t compare him to Trump. As much as the brown nose idiot would love you to. Trump is an accomplished businessman, negotiator and has his finger on the pulse of America.
Landry is a sideshow circus who just needs attention. Has accomplished nothing.

Landry’s ineptitude as a governor extend well beyond his press conference frick ups over the past week.

I wish he would stop going public with inaccurate statements that only make LSU look worse.
Even if he believed that stuff he should keep it private.

Landry called out the athletic director publicly, as well as agents, Jimmy Sexton in particular, who represents both very high profile coach and athlete alike, and he put LSU in a very vulnerable position in negotiations with prospective coaches when he addressed compensation limitations that do not match up with the current reality of attracting the cream of the crop to come to LSU.
His behind closed doors comments made publicly are not just damaging to LSU, but they are highly unusual nationally and make LSU look like a real cluster. The man knows nothing of any of this, and yet inserted himself into all of it quite unwisely, as now he will be forever linked to how this turns out for LSU. As a politician who has to get re-elected in a state that loves LSU more than anything else, that was more than just foolish and inadvisable politically, but it could very well open the door to Democrats if this new coaching hire goes south as well.
