If you are unaware that carbon taxes have already been implemented, then you should probably just bow out of this particular discussion.

We don't have a carbon tax in the United States

I'm not really that concerned with what other countries are doing

I just got home last night after spending 4 days in Madrid. It’s was definitely hot.

Highs on 2 of the days were 98 and 100. It’s was humid too, but this is not an example of humans causing climate change. A few places we went could’ve used better AC, that’s for sure.

Europeans are the worst when it comes to spending money responsibly.

They are guaranteed 6 weeks of paid holiday every year and what do they do? Travel all over the fricking planet spending money out the arse.

If they were smart they would invest in a technology that is over 120 years old instead of skipping off to fricking Thailand for 2 weeks a year.

Problem fricking solved.

This is literally a thread about the heat in Europe, and your response was addressing what their governments would do in response. I’d really suggest trying to be more clear, my man..

bullshite.

Care to share where you get this information?

Edited to add.
I just saw your post where you linked an article from NOAA that supposedly goes back to data from1850.

It must be real then. That technology was something special that they can measure temperature 1850 by hundredths of a degree.

They weren't even keeping written temperature records in 1850.

Also, I won't deny that is has warmed the last 20 years or so. But that is due to the fact that we are still coming out of the mini ice age that didn't end till the late 80's/early 90's and lasted for roughly 350 years.

Buddy what levers do you think the government should pull to help us with the climate becoming more severe?

Truth. They take an absurd amount of vacation, and even if we are closing quarters they are gone for 2 weeks at a time. I mean - they probably have it right but Different standards than we have in the US. Even our Canadian teams are off a ton.

I don't think the government needs to do anything. It's inevitable at this point and a trade off to live in a modern society.

That said we should enforce the laws on the books like the clean air act. We might not be able to slow down climate change but we can monitor our air quality and take measures to make sure it's a healthy planet to live on.

What prey tell are politicians supposed to?

Try following the enormous number of people on X posting pics showing geoengineering. It is coming from both private airplanes in military airplanes. Politicians can stop this anytime they want but refused to.

So you expect the federal government of a country that makes up 4.36% of the world's population to take measures to make sure it's a healthy planet to live on? The whole planet?

Are you fricking retarded?

Have you looked at the air pollution data per country? We're near the very bottom.

World's Most Polluted Countries

How would the United States federal government have any impact on the global air pollution situation when the country isn't even 5% of the planetary population?

You think humans are so responsible that you’ll casually say it’s the trade off for modern life? That’s pretty wild, imo.

You don’t think bad people have gotten wealthier or more powerful off of fabricated climate data/causes? That reaches hoax level, imo.

I swear I had a half decent point but I’m legitimately distracted by your trust of government. I cannot even fathom the government convincing me they have a good feel for climate change, what causes it, and how to help out with it. Or have our best interests at heart when they speak on it.

Do we not enforce clean air act regulations? I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t. But then I’d have some serious questions for Dems. You cannot tell me climate change is the threat that it is and not show me how relentlessly you’re willing to fix it.

And we should wish to stay there....which is my point.
