And we should wish to stay there.
Our ranking has gotten lower and lower with every passing year.
Again, what do you expect our government to do to dent the GLOBAL air pollution situation?

I don't usually have much in common with European politicians, but hey, I don't care either. How 'bout that?

But if you want to see the practical effects of unnatural climate change, look at Europe.
You don't tend to think through your arguments very well.

You think humans are so responsible that you’ll casually say it’s the trade off for modern life? That’s pretty wild, imo.
That's not wild. Most decisions involve some sort of trade off.

You don’t think bad people have gotten wealthier or more powerful off of fabricated climate data/causes? That reaches hoax level, imo.
People have gotten rich off of denying it as well. Do you consider that a hoax as well?

I swear I had a half decent point but I’m legitimately distracted by your trust of government. I cannot even fathom the government convincing me they have a good feel for climate change, what causes it, and how to help out with it. Or have our best interests at heart when they speak on it.
If the alternative is leaving the decision to the Koch brothers and their ilk I'd hope you'd also have the same hesitations.

Do we not enforce clean air act regulations? I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t.
It appears we selectively enforce them. Elon's Xai openly defied them. But he's bought himself a bit of protection it seems.

You cannot tell me climate change is the threat that it is and not show me how relentlessly you’re willing to fix it.
My opinion is that it's a threat on a much longer time horizon than the alarmists. And it's not just about it getting warmer. The climate system is much more complex than that. The biggest risk is likely the break down of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation.
quote:
The AMOC doesn’t just move water around; it plays a huge role in transporting heat to different parts of the world. This means any changes in its circulation also affect weather and climate conditions up and down the Atlantic.2 And today, the AMOC is changing, thanks to warming oceans, increased rainfall, and melting sea ice.
The history of our planet reveals how dramatic these changes can be. “We know that the AMOC at times, during the ice ages, has collapsed. We know that the AMOC at other times was weaker,” says Raffaele Ferrari, a professor of oceanography at MIT.
So what is likely to happen today?
Data around whether the AMOC has already weakened in modern times is a bit uncertain, says Ferrari, because we only have direct measurements going back about a half century. But current information suggests the circulation may have slowed by as much as 15 percent since the 1950s.3
How much more it could slow—or even how accurate that 15% figure is—is still debated. But there is consensus that climate change is likely to further weaken the AMOC. Warming temperatures heat up the ocean, which makes water lighter, less dense, and less likely to sink. Meanwhile, increased rainfall and melting ice will add more freshwater to the ocean, reducing its salinity. “If there isn't enough increase in salinity and decrease in temperature, this water, instead of sinking down, will essentially veer to the right and come back at the surface,” says Ferrari. That would reduce the amount of heat released to the atmosphere—a crucial function of the AMOC, because it plays an important role in keeping Northern Europe’s climate mild, even at latitudes that are frigid in other parts of the world.

The challenge to the climate alarmists is this:
Please explain to us how the Earth is believed to have experienced 3-5 major Ice Ages WITHOUT alternating cycles of global warming & cooling.
Extra credit: Please state the exact dollar figure that 4% of the world's population (the United States) should pay in additional taxes so that the star that is 92,000,000 miles away will begin to burn cooler.
We'll wait.

Europe’s net zero nonsense combined with skittishness around nuclear power (outside of France) has strangled their ability to produce affordable electricity. A/C requires a LOT of electricity. They simply are too poor for it.
Europe needs a lot of nuclear and fossil fuel power to get their prices low enough to make widespread A/C adoption feasible and affordable.

When you investigate Marxism and their effort to eliminate/re-write history, it makes a lot of sense. 1984 was written for a reason. Climate change freaks don't read about the eruptions of Tambora, Pinatubo, etc. Yet we and the Russians tested hundreds? of atmospheric (as opposed to underground) atomic and hydrogen bombs combined, which "mother Earth" apparently has given two shits about.
And the 70s "the coming ice age" bullshite. The "Population Bomb," "Silent Spring," they're all hysterical MFers.
Instigate volcano eruptions. Solve the problem.

One of the clearest examples of short-term cooling occurred after the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines. In the 15–24 months following the eruption, global average surface temperature fell by roughly 0.3–0.6 °C, demonstrating how powerful volcanic aerosols can temporarily offset ongoing warming.?
Historical Examples: Tambora, Pinatubo, and the "Year Without a Summer"
The 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia produced one of the strongest volcanic signals in recorded history. The huge injection of ash and gases triggered the 1816 "Year Without a Summer," bringing unusually cold, wet conditions to parts of Europe and North America and damaging harvests.?
Instigate volcano eruptions. Solve the problem.

One would think that by now, their carbon taxes would have eliminated this prob.
