I'm not pissed at all. Why?

I exercise and eat right and only go to the doctor once a year (for annual physical) like any normal person.

You're not going to stay 25 for the rest of your life. Diabetes, cancer, Parkinsons, dementia, ALS, autoimmune disease, etc don't have anything to do with being obese. It's great that you're living a healthy lifestyle but if you think that shields you from the possibility of a devasting and debilitating health crisis you might be in for a rude awakening.

Generally pretty solid.

The bigger problem is what we got. On what planet does getting a barf bag, a motts apple juice box, and one zofran constitute a $1,900 bill, insurance or not?

Because after how terribly Bush era Republicans ran both the economy and foreign policy, Democrats came into power in 2008 with 60 votes in the Senate and a supermajority in the House. They could have and did pass anything they wanted to.

Of course, the backlash to that was the Tea Party and Republicans riding a wave in 2010. But those Republicans ended up being spineless again, did not repeal Obamacare, and now we’re all stuck with rising premiums, fewer choices and lower quality care and insurance coverage.

Regarding pre-existing conditions . . recently I looked into switching my supplemental health care insurance thinking that if need be I could switch back to the current company in the event I have a change of heart. I was informed that should I opt to return to my former ins. company then I would be hit with the pre-existing clause. So rather than save some money monthly, I'd rather keep what I have rather than face a medical issue that won't be covered & potentially be the ruin of me financially.

I believe he said, "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Don't know if that's true or not. It's amazing how gullible people are when they think politicians mean what they say.

Yes, Obama said exactly that... and that illegal aliens wouldn't benefit from it. Doctors are scarcer, more expensive and insurance is high as a camel's hump. frick all of them- excepting my spirit animal, Joe Wilson.

That's the fix, everyone contributes anyway.

Heath care should not be for profit.

15 years of The Affordable Care Act and nobody has a will to make something better.

Ask Marge, she knows

Dems had both houses of congress that’s how. I remember how affordable my insurance used to be back in 2010. It was so affordable my employer paid it 100% and my deductible was only $800 per person. Now it cost me $300/month my deductible is $3000 and my coinsurance is 20% instead of 10%. My costs have more than tripled in 15!years for less coverage. frick Obama and all the free loading POS that want everything handed to them

Have a family friend whose wife has a very rare condition where her immune system attacks her body - which they didn’t know. She had a terrible flair up (ended up going to the hospital with a blood pressure of 300 / 150) and ended up having to spend 34 days in the ICU. They got the bill for it (which went to their insurance company) - $2.3 million. How is that number even possible? That is more than a lot of Americans in their lifetime

It will always be for profit. Doctors make bank and dont work for free.

What has government ever taken over and made it cheaper/better?

I was paying 14.78 every 2 weeks the year before Obamacare went into effect. That was for me and my wife. Now I pay 115 every 2 weeks with a higher deductible and less access for just me.

How is this saving me 2k a year?

The issue isnt "for profit" the issue is our health care is a hybrid system and regulations and laws are the main culprit.

It used to be affordable until we decided to throw money at the problem.

The US throws alot of money at alot of problems. There is never enough money for the defense, with no audit for waste.

It's all priorities.
Does anyone have a plan to address Healthcare?
I'm all for repeal / replace. Not just ignore it

On the bright side, Obamacare is saving typical families of four $2500 per year on their insurance premiums.

That isn’t rare at all, it’s called autoimmune disease and every Type 1 diabetic is autoimmune along with Rheumatoid Arthritis and several other common diseases.
