If the exact same numbers of murders and violent crimes were committed then as today, of course the stats would show it going down.

Murders are UP from the 1960s on a per 100k basis.
It has also trended up significantly over the last 5 years from its low.
The trend down started when the Clinton Crime bill got passed.

I'm old enough to remember when Bill & Hillary Clinton both, Joe Biden and other prominent Dems correctly identified inner city, black-on-black violence as the problem it continues to be in 2025.
