You kinda can. Zoroastrianism was killed by Islamists. Christianity was largely killed in Northern Africa.
So while you can't technically kill an idea, you can kill enough people who subscribe to that idea that it's not attractive to hold that idea any more.
To be clear, I'm not proposing we start indiscriminately killing Muslims. But Muslims have effectively done this in the past (and continue to try to do this to this day).

I know Jews who haven't set foot in a Synagog in 30 years. And they love bacon.
I know Catholics who think abortion is great (think Nancy Pelosi or Ted Kennedy).
Muslims vary in their degree of adherence to the Koran's more violent instructions on dealing with non believers.

I agree that not all muslims are hard core fanatics but there is a large enough % of 1.5 billion to make it a problem.
BTW 30% or so of Germans were not nazi supporters, but that didn't stop us from bombing 100% of Germans.

It sure does seem this is exactly correct. The passivity of the so-called moderate islamic people is disturbing.
Edit to add: I am not talking about those that speak up on TV or whatever. I am talking about the average folks whose numbers would easily overwhelm any radical group.

Don't know this man and I don't want to judge him, but there are people that call themselves Christian and they don't follow anything that's in the bible at all. Many Muslims probably are so in name only and don't follow or take literal the Koran and the many Hadith's. Those that take there words literally though are following the example of their prophet Mohamed who spread Islam by the sword. The question is, who are the true followers of Islam? Those who call themselves Muslim but don't follow the example of their prophet or heed the words of his doctrines or those who just do what they want?
