You mean his obsession with winning? It's all about portraying an aura of inevitability because he is leading polls. It's not that hard to figure out.
As for the people complaining about his rambling, it's what makes him interesting. Every other politician has 2-3 stump speeches that they give at every rally or speaking engagement. Trump goes off script. You never know what he's going to talk about. It's fascinating and makes me want to tune in.
