It wasn't needed. All they have to do is give a formal order, not bring ALL 800 Generals and Admirals to one room to say "Hey, we're changing the policy.' Acting like the Generals are the problem, when the Generals had to watch Biden do it before Trump, then Trump before Biden, the Obama before Trump, and so on and so on doesn't help anything but their own ego.
Christ, why does every change in administration have to look like tough guys in front of the military? Why can't one of them just say "Hey, we've changed the policy, follow it or it's your career?" Simple. Easy.
But, hey, way to gain loyalty and confidence by overplaying your hand just like everybody else. Guess they had to do something after that garbage with the leaked warplans to reporters or Kash Patels constant frick ups.

Typical uneducated, ignorant liberal response. Even the military analyst employed by CNN corrected the CNN activist journalist by telling him that there is no applause during these type of meetings. My brother-in-law who retired a full bird colonel told me the same thing.

Got an 80 year old man who avoided duty tapping a bro who was an unaccomplished Major in the NG s to lecture a lot of guys who saw real extended action in shitholes and have devoted their lives to the institution. A guy whose only reason he got tapped was because he talked tough for 4 hours on the weekend on cable news.
Hegseth lecturing long term active duty brass on anything having to do with military effectiveness or readiness is beyond laughable.

The quiet part of the meeting in afternoon and evening workshops, all 800 generals were requested to sketch out a plan for them to come in 6% under budget starting immediately. That will save about 50 billion in green dollars per year to fund navel vessels, drone r&d, space force etc
